It will be attached to S. 1023, the Travel Promotion Act, a bill geared to establishing a national travel promotion program.

I am against all Hate Crime legislation. I feel a crime is a crime. If you purposefully kill someone you are a murderer. I do not see a reason to say this murderer is worse than another one.

The group you linked to loses all credibility with their "S. 909 is very dangerous pedophile-protecting legislation." I could not find a link between S909 and pedophiles. Maybe I need to read between the lines.

Are you sure about that one? I mean, that would pretty much prevent lawmakers from making any more of their weekly "save the children" laws, and that kind of pandering is wayyyy too profitable for them to throw away just so they can criminalize free speech. ;)

Bowing to massive protest and demand for hate bill hearings, Senate leadership has abandoned, at least for now, attempts to fast forward the federal hate bill to vote in the Senate as an amendment. A hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled for 10 a.m. EDT, Thursday, June 25. Atty. Gen. Eric Holder, who recently came out strongly in favor of the hate bill, is the only witness yet listed at the SJC's website

No Hate Crime Protection for White Christians or Servicemen

Under questioning, Attorney Gen. Holder was surprisingly forthright in admitting that the hate bill is not intended to protect everyone, or even the majority. He said only historically oppressed minorities were to benefit. This means Jews, blacks, homosexuals, women, etc. Holder made it clear that if a white Christian male, including a serviceman or police officer, was the victim of a violent hate crime by any minority he would have to find redress from traditional law. He could not avail himself of the triple penalties and rapid government/justice system response given a protected minority.
