First Cherry, now this guy. So far two people are challenging Ron Paul, both in the republican party, but this time around, unlike in 2008 with Peden, none of the two current losers seems credible or a threat. While Peden was a mayor of a town in Paul's district and running in a year where if Paul was going to be defeated, it would have been then (with the neocon outrage and 2008 presidential race still fresh on peoples' minds)....these two have nothing (indeed, there is NOTHING anywhere about this Gay guy on the internet.) I only found about Gay a week ago when I saw the FEC report on the 14th district of Texas' 2010 race.

If no one else comes along, I'll say Cherry and Gay combine for 25% of the vote in March 2010. And I think Cherry and Gay will combine for less than 100,000 total dollars raised.

To borrow from Reason (http://www.reason.com/blog/show/123341.html), Cherry and Gay are "that saddest breed of political animal: the opportunists who've lost their opportunity."

Has the RNC got some sort of theme going here?

Why give him any attention at all?

Because people naturally cannot take their eyes off an impending train wreck.

"PAID FOR BY ANGELS FOR JOHN GAY"

???

I didn't get that one either.

Don't get into a wreck yourself by taking your eyes off the road.

This^

Although having another clown in the race makes it even better for the good doctor.

Let the disgruntled neo-cons thrash it out between the two.

I'd be surprised if, between the two, they grabbed 30%.

Wonder which one the RNC will back?

Good. Just in case hell freezes over and the neo-cons had enough votes to oust ron, another neo-con runs and splits the vote. :)

I think the purpose of this guy is to steal some votes away from Ron Paul, not to win.

Dirty political trick.

Anyone who votes for him likely wasn't going to vote for Ron Paul anyways, so he won't be stealing any votes from him. He'll probably steal votes from the other neo-con.

Grabbing the votes of the clueless. That's how Woodrow Wilson got elected over Taft.

Token opposition is good. That way the neocon hacks don't say RP only got reelected because he ran unopposed. You know Hannity would say that.
