I'll start off and post a screenshot of my donation in a few... the stakes are high! We have a week left to donate... give or take a few days depending on when Dr. Paul has to file his FEC report...

Donate!

September 22, 2007

The end is near. Of the third quarter of 2007, that is! And I need your
help to make sure that our campaign gets a big boost. At the end of
the second quarter, on August 1, we had more money than McCain, and we
got a million dollars worth of free publicity.

This time, we can get 10 million dollars worth, IF we have good results
to announce on October 1, and therefore the resources to build for the
future.

After all, our ideas have never been needed more. The Federal Reserve
is killing our dollar, the war is killing our soldiers, police-state
methods are killing our civil liberties, and the income tax and
bureaucratic meddling are killing our economy.

But there is hope for America in the ideas of this Revolution. What
progress we are making, all across this country, among all groups. The
mainstream media may ignore us, but we are winning strawpolls, drawing
huge crowds, getting local media, moving up in the regular polls (a
lagging indicator, of course), organizing, dominating the internet, and
preparing the way for the early caucuses and primaries.

As our opponents begin to falter, and the undecideds grow in strength,
this is our time. When people learn about our ideas and our work for
them, they join the Revolution. So my job is to make sure they learn!

But I can't do this job alone. I need you. Please, reach out your hand
and clasp mine. Our country is at stake, our children's future and ours
is in the balance. Make the most generous contribution
https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/ you can, and make it soon. Help me
go into October with a roar. Help me build this campaign as it must be
built.

A 13-year-old said to me the other day, "Dr. Paul, you are the hope of
my future." No, I told her, but this Revolution is. Will she grow up in
a poorer, more socialist, more militarist, more oppressive country? Or
the free country you and I love?

Let's work together with all our strength for the Constitution, for
America, for all our people, for freedom, prosperity, and peace. Together,
you and I can make a Revolution. Let's do it!

Sincerely,

Ron

Surely they aren't implying they expect to raise ten times last quarter's contributions. That would be obscene. I imagine it is strictly hyperbole designed to induce fevered donations. Good idea.

you dont need to raise 10X more to get 10X more airtime. You just need to bury McCain.

The 2nd tier will bury McCain, the question is who will come up with the most money? If RP ends up with the most, he'll get the coverage, but if Huck or even Tancredo end up with more… yeah, it'll suck.

Huckabee won't beat us. The media tries to paint him as a front runner, but his Iowa performance did not transform into more cash.

My hope for Q3 is:

Romney with a huge loan to himself to beat Giulliani
Giulliaini
Ron Paul with 5-6 mil and 6 mil on hand
Thompson(I hear his fund raising isn't doing that hot + he only has 1 month of fund raising.
McCain(3 mil so far)

I think he'll get a good amount of publicity if he outraises McCain. But the story will be slanted to bash both of them, like "McCain has fundraising woes: Obscure isolationist Congressman Ron Paul raises more money in Q3" or "Little known libertarian candidate with no chance of winning, Congressman Ron Paul, outraises sinking John McCain." I hope that Paul will come in 3rd in fundraising this quarter behind Giuliani and Romney. If he can get somewhere close to Romney that would be huge and they'd have to take notice. I'm not sure if Fred Thompson has to disclose what he's raised or not, but if we're close to him then that would be an added bonus. And I just don't think Huckabee has gotten the boost from his 2nd place in the Iowa straw poll to get $3 million plus. But I guess we'll have to wait a couple weeks to find out for sure.

Hasn't Tancredo raised 3.4 million? I saw that figure posted here a week or two ago.

If I recall the article that mentioned this figure correctly, I'm pretty sure that's a cumulative figure -- putting him at $600K so far in Q3. I don't expect that figure to crack $1MM.

Maybe overall that might be correct. He raised $2.7 million in Q1 and Q2 combined and 1.4 million in Q2 so if he got close to that this quarter then that might be accurate. Remember though, that he took federal matching funds which usually means you're not doing very well so I highly doubt he raised 3.4 million this quarter.

IMO nothing we can spend our money on is more important than this campaign. Give all you can please. What is freedom worth to you? How much would you contribute if you knew you'd be in some FEMA work camp 2 years from now? I maxed out end of June - now I'm hounding everyone I know to buck up. Donate like you are staring at the live end of an assualt rifle held by a buzz cut Blackwater punk deciding if you are an enemy combatant.

Start donating to PACs now. Thats allowed isnt it? Thats a serious question :) I think you can donate $5,000 to a PAC. They need money for TV ads, newspaper ads, radio ads and the like.

No I think they're pointing out that election coverage will increase as we move closer to the primaries, and so a strong showing will play in the media 10x more than it did last quarter.
