Voter Registration Deadlines for New York State!




Existing Voters who are Changing Parties--October 12th, 2007

If you are changing your registration, you must print out the form back and front
(not 2 separate pages) and mail it in by October 12,2007.
You must have your original signature on the form.

New Voters-Registering for the first time: January 5th, 2008

Here is a copy of the form to print out. If you print it in 2 pages, make sure to
then print the second page on the back of the 1st page. So it is all on one piece of
paper. Then mail it in to your County Board of Elections.

When will the Republican Presidential primary be held?

I live upstate...and from what I have found out, the primary election for NYS will be held on Feb. 5th 2008. You HAVE to be registered as a republican to vote in this primary election since NYS is considered a CLOSED primary state.

Party Declaration
A registered voter desiring to affiliate with a party or change their party affiliation must file a Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form 50 days before an election. You can print and complete the Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form (see links below) and mail it to the Commissioner of Registration for the county in which you reside.
