If you haven't, you should- he's been posting some great videos on youtube. I think he's amazing at explaining the way some arcane policies actually hurt our country and how we can actually fix them.
I'm just saying he's so down to earth and well spoken, we need to keep supporting him.

I have only seen two of his YouTubes, both as compelling as watching paint dry.
Out of respect due to Ron Paul and commitment due to The Cause, I will not beyond this mount or join opposition to him. However, comma, I will say this . . . to your "faces," so to speak.
I am on record as being opposed to family dynasties in politics, MUCH opposed. They're bad enough in commerce and finance. Proactivity, shall we say, has been noted in paving the way for Joe Biden's son to don the Senate mantle. Ditto, John McCain's son. Chelsea Clinton has been in media wings, ever since her acceptance into Stanford. For a minute there, networks with the creativity of a player piano were ready to anoint both Billary's daughter and Big Russ & Me's son as political PUNDITS. With the vast life experience and assorted perspective that, between them, barely constituted 50 years. A random 50-year-old, by dint of SURVIVAL, knows more than a 25-year-old sharpie. If only by accident.
Jenna Bush married a KARL ROVE PROTEGE.
The same UNTHINKINGNESS that libertarians display when they poo-poo questions about their fundraising and/or leadership and/or candidates -- we are ABOVE human frailty -- is what permits y'all to overlook the TRUTH that you would/will pull no punches if/when the next wave of Trophy Children assume their thrones by playing off their parents' reputations.
Exploratory committees? Fiddle de de. Did anyone but him and his own pay for him to go to medical school, to see if he could/would be a doctor? Exploratory committees are CLASSIC AMERICAN MONEYMAKING BULLSHIT. Read that, PASS THE RISK ALONG TO OTHERS AND REAP THE BENEFITS FOR YOURSELF.
Yeah, yeah, I know the drill about how we ALL benefit from the advancement in politics of certain Special People. Here's the thing, I am noticing quite a bit more advancement of Special People in politics than I am noticing benefit falling to the Many. Principled People don't ask other people to assume the expense of their risk-taking, particularly not in uber precarious times.
The solution to getting money OUT of campaigning is not to SEND MORE MONEY "one more time." It is the modus operandi of a Gambler. We are a nation of Addicts.
Throwing more money at campaigning in order to get money out of politics is right-there-for-all-the-world-to-see CRAZINESS. Spend our way out of debt. Small is Tall.

Yes! Like Cheapseats mentions though. Rand could use a bit more passion in his speaking. He does come off a tad bland. I'd like to see some smiling and laughing and raising of the voice. PASSION!!!

Cheapseats - you should consider each individual upon their own merit.

I quite agree. BOTH YouTubes that I watched were Yawners.
Would you be a supporter of Rand Paul if he was not the son of Ron Paul?

I would support him for sure. I don't have a problem with the way he speaks. I think he speaks very clear, descriptive & provides great examples for the ignorant. He's a great speaker. You have to remember a few videos he appears to be at the end of a long 14 hour day of being a Doctor.

I will venture to guess that you wouldn't even KNOW him, were he not Ron Paul's son.

Ron Paul has been in Congress for over 30 years. Presumably, he didn't recently have a change of ideology and discover all the issues that everyone is fired up about today. Presumably, as a Principled Person, he has been barking up the same trees right along, yes?
Classic case of a bark being worse than the bite. His voice doesn't carry. Obviously. He lacks Superstar presence. America loves Superstars. I don't make the rules.
Ignorant people don't want to be educated, they want to be ENTERTAINED. I draw attention back to our "winning hearts and minds" in Iraq. If You would educate people rather than cram views down their throats, You kinda need to win 'em over first.
You have to remember a few videos he appears to be at the end of a long 14 hour day of being a Doctor.
Two things:
2.) He should not make videos at the end of a long day of doctoring.
1.) A practicing doctor doesn't need Exploratory Funds from beleaguered taxpayers.

Yes I would. Why not? All I care about is that his ideology is sound.
Ron himself is not a dazzling charismatic speaket...yet you supported him.
You cant be serious when you compare Rand Paul to Chelsea Clinton or Joe Biden Jr.
Rand is intellectually and ideologically light years ahead of them. You want to disqualify him because he's not a great orator?????
Bizarre...
thats said....dont we all wish that Ron and Rand had the stage presence of a Jesse Ventura? Of course, but until a more charismatic figure arieses....you shouldnt be dissing the Pauls.

What? Are you saying that taxpayer funds are going toward his exploratory committee? Or are you just lamenting about "beleaguered taxpayers" making voluntary donations in the name of freedom?
I support Rand because, unlike a professional politician, I know that he can be trusted to uphold the Constitution. I also believe that his father's influence will allow him to compete against the corporate funded candidates much better than a "no name" libertarian running for high office.

Yeah, boy, that's what the uneducated are hopin' to hear . . . some light-years-ahead ideology. I am not comparing their achievements or their character or even their speaking abilities. They are all the children of Entrenched Politicos. Whether Ron Paul supporters like to admit it or not, the Truth remains that Ron Paul IS part of the Ruling Elite.
You want to disqualify him because he's not a great orator?????
Not necessarily. You wanna put him up against someone with pizzazz? Someone like Obama, perhaps?
Bizarre...

Take your outrage to the producers of American Idol, 'cause I'm not buyin' it.
As to dissing the Pauls, I practice PLENTY of restraint of pen and tongue around here, believe you me. Barack Obama is not The One. Ron and Rand are A father and son, not THE father and son.
THE QUESTION WAS ASKED, Are You Following Rand Paul? I SAID that, beyond saying what I was gonna say here, I would not mount or join opposition against him -- out of respect for the MAN Ron Paul and The Cause, which is more important than ALL the politicians, personalities, strategists, supporters and pundits combined.
Did you even READ the whole thread, or did you just jump in with mindless if-you're-not-with-us-you're-a-poopey-head scolding?
FINE. Not another word about the man who is UNMISTAKABLY riding on the old man's coattails.
I detect the foul stench of troll.

So you "respect" the cause but don't support it? We're supposed to be grateful that you're not actively working against it?
I support anyone who has a realistic chance of gaining power and saving the Republic. Rand is one of those people.
