Fox News Sunday has a new segment called "Right Now", where they will be pushing their choices for the "Leading Lights and Best Thinkers in the Republican Party". Essentially they will be pushing their agenda for the future of the GOP and the next GOP presidential candidates.

They started with Mitt Romney. Who will they feature next?

I will update this thread next time they play a segment.

Here is the last segment, in case you are interested:

--------------

Update:

The person to be featured next on FNS was announced today (to be aired next week):

Rep. Paul Ryan

He wasn't on the poll list, and nobody picked him in the thread. No winners this time.

Update - Video from part 2 of their series:

Newt.
Sorry, I should have read your OP better Brian.
I voted Newt for THEIR pick as GOP lead period, jumped the gun didn't realize it was a show you were talking about.

haha i was thinking Mitt Romney before I read that they started with him. Big surprise. Beck and Hannity were all about Romney.

Well they gave that snake Huckabee his own show, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him being pushed.

Here is my take.

6 months ago I would have said Jindal, but no way. He blew it. He is too uncharasmatic. His mister Rogers speech was awful. They are really starting to promote Sanford now. I think he is a trojan horse designed to deflect and dilute the message of libertarianism.

I could see Newt or Romney winning as a Republican if there is a 3rd party, Perot type, also promoted by the media. With either of these two guys you will get hardcore fascism. Ron Paul will never be featured as the leader according to Fox, no chance in hell.

Pretty much the same thing! :D

They feature Newt a lot already, so it's hard to say if they'll put him in that special segment. We'll see.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say some neocon. LOL at Ron Paul even being on that list.

Hannity had Newt on his show today. They were getting a little giddy predicting that they will replace Obama after one term. They need someone to calm them down a bit.

Kind of like this clip. It's symbolic. Imagine Hannity and Gingrich cleaning up the remains of the GOP...(warning: profanity and strong language!):

They are already courting Gingrich. People will fall for it just like they are falling for Hannity's claim he is the Conservative - Conservative underground.

Fox News Sunday is tomorrow. Last chance to pick. If they have the "Right Now" segment, I will update with the winner.

To answer the OP's question...I have a few likely picks.

Or maybe...

Or this guy...

All three are in the same league as the asshats Faux News would prop up.

There will be another segment, so feel free to vote in the poll for the next episode of "your next GOP front runners". If you choose "other", please post with their name. No one specifically choose Paul Ryan, so no winners last time.

Ryan has a name problem, sounds too muck like the guy who had thesex club divirce scandal
kind of looks like him too.
Hannity is still too muck of a true believeer and a GOP cheerleader,
Let's see who Beck focuses on.

Palin will only be a v=p candidate,

And nobody wins again!

(Yeah, he wasn't a choice in the Poll, but nobody mentioned him in the thread either.)

This past Sunday, Fox News Sunday featured Mike Pence as a GOP up and comer in their "Right Now" segment (where FNS is trying to pick the next GOP Presidential candidate) .

Looks like another neo-conservative candidate like McCain: pro-war, pro-Patriot Act, pro-immigration "reform".

Anyone have any knowledge of Pence?

I don't think anyone really thinks Sarah Palin is a viable candidate.

Except for Bill Kristol... and he has some say in who ends up on that segment.

Of course the Poll options were created before Palin and Sanford pointed their shotguns at their feet and pulled the triggers. (Palin used birdshot, Sanford went with the 00 Buck...both messy at that range...)

I hear ya. But they are getting a head start, so it's good to keep up so that when the Primaries come around, we know where all of the candidates came from...

11 people selected Ron Paul??? I thought the poll is who we think Foxnews will feature, not who we would like to see. I do not see Hannity or O'Rielly ever being anything but hostile to Paul and that is primetime where most of the viewership-ratings is.
