View Full Version : seeking urgent help finding C4L video for presentation to GOP meeting

I have other threads I need to reply to and I will get to them. THIS post, however, is a call for help.

I have a presentation on the Campaign For Liberty to present to the local County GOP at our normal monthly meeting.

My best plan so far is to show a 5 minute video for the C4L including Ron Paul and targeted at Republicans. Follow the video with 5 minutes on restoring the Constitutional order and supporting HR 1207. Then take questions and pass out C4L materials including general info, info on HR1207, and the HR1207 petition.

Sounds good right?

One problem. I can't find any video on the C4L -- AT ALL -- nevermind C4L video targeting Republicans specifically, or that includes Dr Paul in it.

So i am nearing panic mode now. I am giving this presentation on June 11th -- in THREE DAYS and the part I want most of all - the video - I do not have.

Anybody have any ideas here? I'm getting desperate!

(yes, I'll be answering the chocolate and the dog threads, but for the moment I am searching desperately for 5 min of video on the C4L suitable for presenting to "ordinary" Republicans)

Hope someone can help me....

Thanks for the quick response. That video spot is not bad. I am guessing one has to be online to access it though? No way to download and play it from a laptop onto a projector without a net connection? Also (and not nearly as important), I like Kokesh quite a bit...Though I am not sure how 'normal' Republicans will take him, but that's really not so important as having something I can play from a laptop.

Funny thing is, on the "General Information" handout from the C4L website, bullet point #6 says, "Feature written as well as video commentaries on the news and issues of the day" but the only video I find on C4L are YouTubes of Fox and CNN which 'just happen' to feature Dr Paul. :(

I can probably use the above vid as-is if it came down to it. Come up with some way of downloading it into the web browser and THEN carrying the laptop asleep to the meeting and hoping it will just play? Hmm...

hmm there should be a way to download them.
otherwise you can just let the video load, and then as long as you leave that page open it should work without internet

I can't believe that the C4L doesn't have ANY kind of video to promote itself. :( The site you linked has 2 videos that would be great to promote the C4L amongst...Ron Paulers. This is crazy! How can the C4L NOT have a C4L promoting video featuring Ron Paul??

I don't have one for you but I agree. Especially since their new thing seems to be taking over the GOP. :(

agreed
I recommended a "splash" page that would introduce the C4L to people visiting for the first time. They said "good idea!" but I have no idea if it will ever come to fruition..

I know there is a better quality out there but try this

YouTube - Peter Schiff Was Right Again (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq1N70vym1g)

Change it up a lil and make it more Schiff than RP!

The interview posted above is more 'dull' than I want, not nearly as attention grabbing or flashy as I would like, but the CONTENT of that interview is dead-on topic.

MRoCkEd - the C4L announcement is a good one too. It's more pointed at US than THEM though we are right there like that word that's on the tip of the tongue. Right now it's between the Washington State C4L interview, and the C4L announcement that you just posted. I am leaning more towards the WAC4L interview ONLY because of the amount of focus the C4L announcement gives to the 2008 RNC convention...

MRoCkEd -- that really is a very good video for what I am looking for.... I wonder if I can edit/excerpt the important bits and pare it down to about 5 min....

Yeah, this is just crazy! I really waited until Friday/Saturday to search for the right vid because I was SURE that the C4L would have something specifically targeting the GOP in order to intro Republicans to join the C4L. Imagine my surprise. This one ought to be a no-brainer.

Any thoughts on choosing between the "Introducing The Campaign For Liberty" vid that MRoCkEd posted, and the Washington State C4L interview I found?

I actually like the one MRoCkEd posted BETTER, but don't have time to edit out the stuff I don't necessarily want to share with the local county GOP. ;)

So now I am torn between the two...

I thought that was only for YouTube... That's why when the discussion moved into YouTubes, I stopped asking the question about downloading. I already have that widgit. :D

Thanks tho, I mean it. :)

isn't there a way to embed videos in a powerpoint? I think if you change a couple of options you can do this. I'll see if I can locate instructions.

Don't worry, so long as it's YouTube I'll have no problem downloading it and projecting it at full screen...unless you are interested in making a PPT for other (distribution-type) purposes. Seriously thanks though. I've embedded vid into PPT before so I know it can be done. However I do not have a copy of PPT installed at the moment, so that would not be useful for my purposes on Thursday.

What I'll probably be doing to make things as dead simple and reliable as possible, will be downloading a vid from YouTube in MP4 format, and then playing it at full screen with a vid peojector from a laptop with...probably iTunes because it handles MP4 so well.

Seriously, thanks everyone for helping on this. I'll probably end up with the 5 min promo spot in #17 (no, I did not find that, someone found it for me as a response to my call for help!)

It' the right time length, it covers the right topics. The soundtrack could be a little quieter especially for those over 60 years old, but other than that it's great.

I'll let everybody know how it went, and I'll even try to get video of the thing. 8-)

BEAUTEOUS! (how is that not being tagged as a misspelled word???)

Looks like the author of the vid in #17 will be re-rendering it with the music turned down a little bit and sending it my way. This will REALLY help those between 60 and 80 years old to follow the vid. :D

God I love the Ron Paul community.
