it hasn't 'turned back on' like it was suppose to.
they saw a couple of suns spots a few weeks ago and were certain we were going back to solar maximum- and then quiet again.

Funny you mention that, since my job in Australia for the Air Force from 2006-2008 was solar observing. :)

Exactly right. This has been an abnormally long solar min. It was supposed to last only 6-15 months, but instead went for almost two years.
