I got a letter in my in-box today from RonPaulForCongress. It explained a lot about Rand and provided a link to his website www.RandPaul2010.com

I can picture Rand -- "Way to go Dad...crashed my website!"
And he needs to get a new server! It crashed again. The most important outlet for him and it crashes everytime people want to see it.

Anyone know who is running this site? Are they working on allowing more hits?

I thought it was Michael Nystrom? I am sure he's scrambling right now trying to fix it.

if he is running it off of his own private server, he may need to drop down the money for a T-1 line and a top-line server.

Yes, T1's are expensive.... it may be cost efficient to just use a company with existing high end bandwidth capabilities. It would also help if the main page of the site is lite. 50,000$ is way more than plenty for a nice server.

I thought it was the same guys from Schiff2010 running Rand's site. They are from California and the site's are very similar. I also think they post on the blog on randpaul2010.com

You are thinking of PeacPAC with Chad Peace. They simply ran the "draft Rand / Peter" campaign.

Yeah I know that, but Rand's official site is very similar to the draft schiff/rand sites.

Maybe they should be running the actual Rand2010 site now.
This is a huge failure we are witnessing today. And Rand's site has had trouble since day one.

It seems to be working now, although the donation widget has been removed.
They better be prepared for the next Ron Paul emails and moneybomb.

Relax, it's not some big fail. This happened many times during the Presidential campaign in 2007.

Chad is on the team...;) Has little to do with any one person.. I'll take the blame if we need someone to blame.:cool:

*sigh* http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/
Why people keep re-inventing the wheel is beyond me. There are plenty of hosting solutions out there that don't cost a lot of money that leverage existing infrastructure that is proven and reliable. Oh, did I mention cost effective and reliable? And scalable?
:P
he just raised 25K since the email has hit. niceeeee
