They have been at it longer than pretty much everybody.

Not with IEDs. That is only about 2 years old for Afganistan.


Anyways. Every year the war gets worse there.

2008 ... 294 coalition fatalities
2007 ... 232 coalition fatalities
2006 ... 191 coalition fatalities
2005 ... 131 coalition fatalities
