Awesome. :D

When Jon Stewart isn't making goofy faces, he's actually pretty good at debating. This should be a great interview.

I'm expecting Jon to make the sarcastic liberal comment about the "magic" of free market economics.

So, will this be the opposite of the Cramer interview? :)

I hope Peter can explain how we haven't had a free market. Jon Stewart does seem to understand that though - he brought that point up to Alan Greenspan. I guess Stewart figures that as long as we have a controlled economy, the strings should be pulled in a way that seems to benefit the little guy rather than the big guy...

I honestly want Stewart to pick a fight with Schiff about the free market. Stewart never has any intelligent free marketeers on his show. He challenges Schiff he is going to get owned.

Yeah, Jon probably is going to poke fun at Schiff because he points out the fact we are entering the slaughterhouse.

I almost can't believe this. Stewart ALWAYS has on big-government globalists denouncing the "free-market" or explaining the "free-market."

I usually don't even watch the interviews with Stewart because I can't stand the guests he has. I'll definitely be watching this one.

I think Schiff is going to own him if Stewart lets him truly explain we've not had free market capitalism in ever so long, if ever. I can see Stewart making fun of the "doomsday" angle.

Schiff would only have a very small amount of time to respond to whatever vague insult Jon might chip in about free markets. However great his knowledge may be on economics, its still very difficult to make points and convince skeptics just by using small sound bytes on a light hearted comedy show.

However glad I am he is going on the Daily Show, as it probably will work out relatively well, he should never go on the Colbert Report. The Colbert Report is a crappy medium to reach an opposing audience, its next to impossible to get a point across to the audience, when the host is interrupting you in satirical agreement.

Schiff will destroy Stewart if he tries to debate him.

I think overall Stewart is a decent guy, he's just misled on a lot of a issues. Some people on here think he is a shill and I wouldn't agree with that. Colbert on the other hand...

I remember his interview with Ron was good and he has spoken highly of him.

His audience seems to be pretty open-minded too, at least for one of that size.

This is actually a perfect fit for Schiff. He will do awesome on the Daily Show. He's the one guy on the financial channels who DID predict the crash and tell it straight to the American people. Plus Peter is probably working on some epic new one-liners and metaphors for the show. :)

Yeah, and all the plainly ridiculous things they say that just leave you shouting at your monitor.

It seems that Stewart has learned a few things about the economy and the car bailouts so this interview will probably be rowdier than we can even imagine. http://rawstory.com/08/news/2009/06/03/jon-stewart-gm-bankruptcy/.

By the way, Tom Woods vs Paul Krugman. What do you think? ;)

That would be the smart thing to do, considering the size of Stewarts audience.

Is there any way to try to get some friendlies into the studio audience?

+1! This is a must! If he's going to announce his run for senate, it would be great if the crowd went nuts.

Stewart has a big problem with all the financial pundits who didn't see this whole thing coming and in fact encouraged it... see his interview with Jim Cramer. Hopefully he'll do some research (namely watch the "Peter Schiff was Right" youtube) and realize that Schiff was, in fact, right all along.

I'm sure Stewart would play a Schiff clip or two, at least to introduce him to the audience. Or read some very prescient quotes. :)

Don't kid yourself, Schiff isn't gonna destroy Stewart because Stewart always goes down on obvious people-who-don't-know-what-they're-talking-about like Cramer. That was an expected showdown. With Schiff, he'll probably just try to get jokes in.
