The least you can donate at a time is $25, so that's a minimum of $44,675. Could easily be $100,000+ range. Not a bad week for online donations I suppose...

This Live-updated banner is nice. I wonder what happens when it hits 1787? I hope they designed it to do something fancy, like the quill become animated and start writing out the constitution.

Or maybe the lucky 1787 person gets a personal call from Ron Paul....

How does one become a Liberty Associate? I already bought some Ron Paul coins but I do not think that I joined anything. :)

I don't have all of the details since I signed up a while ago, but I can give you the basics. It costs $250 to sign up as a Liberty Associate. $50 goes to Liberty Dollar and $100 goes to the person who referred you. You get $100 in Liberty Dollars to get you started. If you don't have a referrer, it still costs $250. Like I said I will donate $50 for anyone who signs up using my refer ID by clicking on the link in my signature.

The main benefits are that you get a special price or "commission" (the procedure has changed slightly since I signed up) for anything you buy from Liberty Dollar. For example, I ordered 200 Ron Paul Copper Dollars (can't wait to get them in November!!!) and I got them for $.81 piece due to the slightly lower market price of copper and the LD Associate discount. Another benefit is that you can get other people to sign up and earn $100. I like the idea of getting paid for spreading the use of sound money. Like I said, I will put $50 towards the campaign and send you the confirmation number so you can verify it got to the good Doctor Paul. I have been somewhat disappointed by the Ron Paul community so far in their lack of use of Liberty Dollars and egold, particularly in the case of LD, since they directly support the campaign, are actively in a legal battle with the Feds, and are currently issuing currency with Ron Paul's face and website on it.

For more details, go to http://www.libertydollar.org/ld/get-started/liberty-associate.htm

That's not right. A monetary goal would require publicizing the dollar amount before the required disclosure date, which they sometimes do but generally try to keep secret--recall in the meetup challenge how they said how far groups were from the lead, but they didn't say what the total values were. In fact, the only actual dollar amount I have seen them disclose before the required date was when they recently announced their $350,000 on the West coast tour--but that was strictly for the live events where interested people from the other campaigns could figure the amount by looking up the numbers in attendance and the price per person, which were public information.

Also, it's good for a campaign to have large numbers of small donations.

The fill the quill idea is a good one.

I'm not saying they should publicize grand totals from the quarterly fund raising. But something like $100,000 in two or three days would be fun to push for.

Yeah it would. And I'm not enough of a political wonk to know why they wouldn't want to do that. But I'm just saying that it wouldn't fit the general strategy that they've used so far of not giving away any dollar values that they don't have to.

Also, is it just me or has the quill really slowed down considerably? I think it was on a tear for the past couple days with people rushing to get it up to 1787, and then up to 2008, but now that they've put up the "fill the quill again" thing, nobody is enough of a Pollyanna to think that's ever gonna happen so they're saving their donations for another day. At any rate, 2100+ online donations in a week is obviously a great achievement.

701, I say we make a dramatic goal and try to fill it two more times before the end of September. That would be more than double the Hucksters apparent monthly goal in two weeks. Let's set the bar super high and jump over it. If we shock the MSM with this quarter funding the race becomes ours to win.

No offense, but it would be better for everyone else to just donate the 250 they'd waste on that crap.

None taken. I guess you are right. For the short term goal of filling the quill or posting campaign contributions, it would be better to just give $250 to the campaign. Some people are new to Ron Paul, have lots of money, and have maxed out their contribution. This is one way for them to promote a little bit longer term issue of protecting ourselves from economic collapse by using SOUND MONEY like the good Dr. always says. Plus, Liberty Dollar is in a legal battle with the Mint for slandering them on their website. They are "on our side," so none of your money would be "wasted."

WE NEED TO BUILD COMMUNITIES PEOPLE!! This campaign is great, and we need to ride it as far is it will let us, hopefully to the White House!! But we also have to look at HOW we are going to implement the changes that a President Paul would. The LD already has over $20 million in circulation. The bigger that the LD community gets, the stronger case we can present to people of a working SOUND MONEY system.

At the very least, go to the the Liberty Dollar website and order some Ron Paul $1 Coppers to pass out to people who might be receptive to Dr. Paul's message.
