He was invited LONG ago. This is Chuck Muth's convention and he has written more than one pro-Paul article. Maybe the campaign is waiting to see who else is going to sign on. I don't know.

Man, oh man, I don't understand him not attending this one at all. He has such a strong pro-2nd amendment stance. And from the website, not even a videotaped message, like a couple of the Presidential candidates are doing! Geez. Things like this, I just do not understand. Guess all we can do is trust the campaign. I'm sure they have a reason.

I don't think they've invited RP. In fact, I believe they have blackballed him. The NRA, the largest anti-gun organization in the world, hates our guy. They don't want him as president because they won't be needed anymore when he's president. The NRA has actively worked against Ron Paul in his congressional district in the past. As has GWBush and Newtie Gingrich.

Everyone should refuse to join the NRA, ever. Worst thing that ever happened to our gun rights.

That's today....isn't the Congressman in Michigan or Chicago?

That NRA-ILA roster reads like a Neo-Con who's who.

We need to find out the real story behind this.

If it is indeed the NRA that blackballed RP, how many of us are willing to sign a petition to quit our NRA memberships? As much as I'd hate too, I'll sign on to resign my membership.

I'm not sure why you would hate to give up your NRA membership. I did it years ago and have felt better ever since. They have actively worked against Ron Paul, the most pro-gun congressman in history. That should be enough to quit. They are in favor of expanding the Brady Instant Background Check system. They are constantly pushing lock up your safety measures. The single most counterproductive gun group in the world. I have a great friend who feels the NRA is the group that has been appointed to negotiate our gun rights surrender. And the evidence is overwhelming.

If your gun club is NRA membership mandatory, I would immediately start feeling out the membership to make membership optional. You want the NRA's attention? When you do that, I promise that Pepe Lapew (Dingus Lapierre) will end up in your kitchen lobbying you personally. But please take the opportunity to punch him in the mouth for Ron Paul.

You should send your resignation letter along with a copy of your confirmation e-mail from joining (http://www.gunowners.org/ordergoamem.htm) the far superior Gun Owners of America (http://www.gunowners.org), which Ron Paul describes as, "The only no-compromise gun lobby in Washington."

I hear the "Gun Owners of America" are better than the NRA anyway.

You will ALWAYS find some good RP discussion here:

Gun Owner of America led by Larry Pratt is indeed one of the best groups in DC. They are not only friends well versed on the 2nd Amendment, they back Ron Paul and support real grassroot America in the process. I have know Larry for years and appreciate all that he does for our cause immensely!

Dr. Paul would be the turd in the punchbowl at that party.

His campaign probably found the forum to be not worth attending. Considering that it's going to be full of pro-gun folks and Libertarians, is Paul support there really in question? You'll probably have 500 Paul supporters there even if he isn't, so there's no point in him flying out just to give a speech.

Now this is an event that Paul should attend. Regardless of how much better the GOA is than the NRA, the NRA has far greater membership numbers, and as we see from the speakers list, everybody who's anybody wants in. Paul should try to get on the list.
