Protecting the Golbal Environment

Hey guys, I'm looking for some perspective.

From my understanding, property rights simultaneously protects individuals and the environment from pollution. This applies within the laws of the country you live in i.e the United States.

What can be done to protect the environment from foreign companies/countries where property rights do not apply? How can you coordinate foreign companies from producing, say, CFC's, without regulations from their governments?

Invent a better, earth-friendly, and more efficient product and make the patent public or open source. Demonstrate the cost-effectiveness and safety of the product, and as creator, give your idea and blueprints away freely. Just like the internet has given so many great open source programs.

The next arm is to create an environmental charity which donates their time and effort to community projects and education WITHOUT being politicized.
