Because he's a petty, envious, narcissistic little creep who is jealous that another formerly obscure congressman has built a great following while he himself remains obscure...

There are probably many democrats who won't sign onto a bill by a republican. If Dennis can get 55 dems to sign onto his bill, then Paul & Dennis can get together and get the a bill passed.

Crafty, if true.

I KNOW he wants to reign them in.

HR 1207 is still a secrect, the media isn't talking, the people don't know.

IF HR 2424 makes the buzz a little louder, great.

If it takes three more bills to get it right and get it passed, I believe both Paul and Kucinich will say "Thank God, we did it". Not "My bill was the first bill" or "My bill was better written."

Ron does. You are allowed to have your own opinion.

It's fundamentally a different bill and was referred to a different committee.

I don't like him, but I think he is probably more honest than 90% of politicians.

They don't agree on a whole lot but this is one huge issue they would gladly hang both of their hats on together.
More pressure is better.

This post gave me great hope. Thank you.

I called DK's office and expressed my disappointment that he did not co-sponsor HR 1207, which I saw as a much more comprehensive action. I pointed out that HR 2424 does not address Fed activities such as its custody of our gold reserves and trading in foreign currencies, for example. A 'review' as called for by HR 2424 is, in accounting parlance, a far less rigorous examination than an audit.

Dennis Kucinich not only threw his support to Barack Obama right before the Iowa caucusing commenced i.e. before Iowa's political elite gave the nod to Barack Obama, Dennis Kucinich encouraged his supporters to do the same.

Which bled into the Biden and Richardson camps collapsing into Obama's camp, all of which backroom dealing comprised The Unknown One's "big bounce."

I could care less about candidate/politico likability. I care about integrity. I care about smarts. I care about trustworthiness. I don't know about the Royal We but, pointedly because of his part in the "wheeling, dealing, haggling and horse trading" that IS the Iowa Caucuses, I have zero respect for the pipsqueak.

Those terms are purposefully in quotes, by the by. "Wheeling, dealing, haggling and horse trading" are exactly the terms I heard used, more than once, in Iowa "news" coverage of their own "news." Caucuses to launch an American presidential campaign are no more rightly held in Iowa than on Grand Cayman.

Kucinich was jumping around like a mad little doll at the end of his speech at the DNC, shouting "up with Obama...up with Biden..." whilst thrusting his fists into the air while the crowd went ballistic. It was scary to watch.

Something died that moment, probably thousands of baby puppies.

Umm, the Kucinich bill is a watered down 1207...Ron Paul's bill takes away the blockers to full access, Kucinich wants to only examine the credit part of the Fed that only applies to this current fiscal crisis. And then sunsets.

Do not support any altered version of this bill. They will try to add, change, manipulate the bill to the point where it will only be a smoke screen to tide us over.

Does it matter? This means that if Ron's bill doesn't get passed, there's a chance that Kucinich's will.

This is what I'm afraid of. We don't want a watered down bill!!!

The problem is this is likely to affect the chances of 1207 getting passed.
