View Full Version : Seriously. Is our fundraising this weak? Can we get RPH to $2,500 ($78 away) TODAY?

Everyone --- I know everyone is keeping the powder dry for these moneybombs coming up, but there are about 44 people viewing Grassroots Central, and a bit over 200 people on the forum period.

I want to see us accomplish something on a random Monday night when there are hardly any folks on. Can you contact your friends who are members on here and help us get RonPaulHawaii to $2,000??? It's about $300, that's it.

And how about this. If the board can get the widget up to $1,900, I will personally chip-in $100, 1/3 of the way, to get it to $2,000.

For those of you who are not aware, RonPaulHawaii (Michael Maresco) is going to ride the entire span of the country handing out literature and Sheriff Mack's book to county sheriffs along the way.

I don't know how many of you know Michael, but if there is one guy in this movement who will spend every waking minute campaigning our message, and doing it on a shoe-string budget, it is RonPaulHawaii.

You want to talk return on your money? So you don't have time to get out and campaign everyday. Michael will spend a HUGE CHUNK of the summer, DAILY, spreading the message.

He just needs your help! Not some huge gut-crushing donation --- just a few bucks! 39 of us already have according to the widget!

Will you guys please help!? If you get it his chip-in to $1900 tonight, I will kick in $100.00.

How about this. If you all get his chip-in widget to $3,000 without my help --- I'll get it to $3,500 personally. Those of you who dislike me as a Moderator now have an incentive to bleed me out of my money!

We used to scoff at $1,400 bucks --- child's play!

We need to get the Ride for Honesty funded.

Enough screwing around. Let's get Michael geared up and on the damn road.

Thanks Krippy, and w00t! That's why I have been happy to try and help fund the ride. He presents our message so well, and definitely gets results on the cheap. I am excited to know he will be meeting with so many sheriff's on the ride with Sheriff Mack's book.

Looks like you guys surpassed the $2,000 mark. Right on! I also want to draw attention to the issue of helping Committees of Safety be able to attend the National Conference of State Legislators this July. This is a major opportunity for the freedom movement to connect with a ton of state legislators, and possibly even get Dr. Edwin Vieira to address them. See http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=191785

Seeing as how the state and local governments are our best chance to save the republic, making sure Committees of Safety is at this event could bring invaluable returns.

Absolutely, and if I can't get in to see them, due to any number of reasons, I, or a local, will drop the materials off at the office. I had been reading Vieira's book when this began to hatch and would love to be able to deliver that. Maybe if I do the northern tier... I'm still going to try to add Meltdown to every Governor pack. Here is a blog on the flagstaff

http://libertyrider.com/the-flags-to-be-flown/ (http://libertyrider.com/the-flags-to-be-flown/)

I’ve been rigging the bike the last two days. Thought I’d share the significance of some of the flags I’ve chosen (in addition to the Gadsden and American.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f6/BedfordBattleFlag.jpgThe Bedford Flag
At the base of the stack is The Bedford Flag; legend has that it was flown at Concord Bridge; the very first flag flown by Americans in defense of Liberty. Here are some excerpts from a history of The Bedford Flag (http://www.town.bedford.ma.us/flag.html):
The Bedford Flag is the oldest complete flag known to exist in the United States. It is celebrated as the flag carried by the Bedford Minuteman, Nathaniel Page, to the Concord Bridge on April 19, 1775, the beginning of the American Revolution, but it was already an antique on that day.
The flag was still in the custody of the Page family at the time of the American Revolution, and it is believed in Bedford that Minuteman Nathaniel Page took it with him to the battle at Concord. Nathaniel told the story to his grandson, Cyrus, and it was written down after his death by the nineteenth century historian, Abram English Brown. This account says:
“On the arrival of the [Bedford] Company at Concord, they assisted in removing the stores to places of greater safety. Tradition says that Cornet Nathaniel Page laid down his flag and went to work, and when returning to look for it ‘found the boys had got it and were playing soldiers.’” He took it up and went to face the British regulars at the North Bridge.
In 1838, the battle at the North Bridge was vividly memorialized by the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson in his famous Concord Hymn:
By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard round the world.
I chose it in honor of the countless veterans who have fought, and died, to maintain my birthright, and to remind me of the duty to their memory.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

http://www.flagguys.com/img/h141.jpgFirst Continental Regiment Flag

Above the Bedford is The First Continental Regiment Flag. This flag represents the evolution of grassroots r3VOLution. Here is some history (http://www.flagguys.com/firstcont.html) that I think explains why. It starts with the Latin:
Domari Nolo “I Refuse to be Subjugated”
And man o man did they ever refuse to be subjugated. These guys were everywhere. They were important in Washington’s siege of Boston. They stayed behind and were the last to leave after covering the main army’s dangerous nick of time retreat from Long Island. They crossed the Delaware with Washington. They were “at Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, and every major skirmish, and battle all the way to Yorktown.1″ where they fought “the most important part of the siege” according to General Steuben. They saw Cornwallis surrender at Yorktown and this flag was there. These guys saw action in every one of the original 13 colonies.
They were everywhere, fighting passionately, just like us…
http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/images/u/us-maen1.gifWashinton’s Cruiser Flags
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next is what is Known as The Washington’s Cruiser Flag. There is no historical significance in my choice of this flag. And that speaks volumes.
For those who are interested in the history of the flag you can look here (http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/images/u/us-maen1.gif)
To me, this flag represents the moral high ground, and reminds me of the value of place. It reminds me of who I am and humbly voices a feeling which has echoed through the ages…
Man, this type of effort should really be covered on Freedom Watch.
You're the man, Mike, I have no doubt that my money has gone to a GREAT cause! :cool:
An update from AZ
http://www.meetup.com/Ron-Paul-and-his-Campaign-for-Liberty-R3VOLUTION/messages/boards/thread/6916098#27723870 (http://www.meetup.com/Ron-Paul-and-his-Campaign-for-Liberty-R3VOLUTION/messages/boards/thread/6916098#27723870)
...Ok, here's the kicker. I am contemplating riding along with Michael across Arizona. I think it would be a great Media Opportunity (even if it kills me http://img.meetup.com/img/smileys/confused.gif) and I can also spread the message about Continental Congress 2009, END THE FED, and THE PHOENIX R3VOLUTION, among other things.
I see by the Calendar that there is a 'Road Trip' into New Mexico at juuuust the right time to converge these two Projects into one. Jeanne - get with me and we'll brainstorm on this idea.
ONE LAST THING. Michael wants to meet with every Sheriff of every county he passes through, and give a copy of Sheriff Mack's book "The County Sheriff - America's Last Hope" and Ron Paul's "Revolution Manifesto" to them. We need someone in Apache, Navajo, Coconino, and Mohave Counties to contact their Sheriff, and possibly set up a meetinng with Michael on his route. He also has a packet to give to the Governor, and would like someone to receive it from him and promise to deliver it to Governor Brewer.
As usual - much to do, and little time to do it in!
Such is the life of an Activist...
Ed
Awesome Ed said he is going to go and last time I checked, I have never pedaled across Arizona before. So it looks like I am going to do it as well. Who knows I might even go all the way to San Francisco. It would make for an interesting trip. So Ed sign me up I'm in. Looks like only 340 miles should be a walk in the park. Ed I suggest you get a bike and start riding to prepare for this. Make sure the bike you get has a good seat! Else you might live to regret going.
Funny you mention this... I emailed the producer requesting they have Michael on next week's show. I guess we'll know if *begging* works...
That's fantastic! I hope he gets the chance to mention Committees of Safety / Dr. Edwin Vieira / the militia concept when he's on there.
:cool: I found his note in the spam folder on my blog yesterday, I left him a message... (where is that dang "praying" smiley when I need it)
Thank YOU!!!
I hope I do, as well. I certainly will have it on top of my mind.
On another note. I had the old RP08 stickers on the frame from tha last ride. While I do have rp's name on the bike in a few places, I didn't want to overload it...
Awake has built some great images for this ride and though the following banner would not work on the site, I found the perfect use for them to (temporarily) cover the RP ones...
Here is the actual image
And one big MAHALO, to awake.
In other news, I got report last night that the only female Sheriff in PA, of Chester County, is planning on coming to the CfL Memorial Day picnic that PennsylvaniaRevolution has set up for the ride. :D There should be a blog post today.
Needless to say I haven't been spending much time here as we finalize details. I just want to express my deep appreciation of all who choose to "Be a Part of It"
Thank you.
