I was checking to find out who actually made this commercial (It certainly can't be real). I didn't find out but was surprised at all of the comments that I found thinking that it was funny.

Until the end I was just thinking that it was an arrogant commercial. After seeing the shocking end I got to thinking that this is a great way to turn people against guns without them even realizing it.

A comment that I stole from someone else on another webpage sums it up:

Maybe it was not meant to be an automobile commercial. Maybe it was a commercial intended to prey upon people's emotions and eliminate the 2nd Amendment...

And yes, way over the top for me too.

I think I'll buy a Humvee this year, and outfit it with a supercharger...and anything else I can think of to make it guzzle gasoline.

The shooter looked like Andy Richter, who was Conan O'Brien's #2 man. So this probably had nothing to do with actually selling a car or opposing the 2nd amendment. It was likely just a bad attempt at comedy.

OK, so it's a gag...

Wonder what Nissan thinks of it?

Haha, that was funny. You guys are too paranoid. Andy Richter is a funny actor that's been in a few movies and on a few television shows. He rose to fame as Conan O'brien's cohost back in the day.

If you guys don't understand why it was funny, just think of it as a modern, surrealist form of slapstick comedy.

I wouldn't know Andy Richter if I kicked him.

I thought it was a legit ad, dreamed up by some insane ad agency exec.

As a dark comedy routine, I can chuckle over it as well.

It's funny you should mention that. I used to work for a guy with a Magnacharger on his H2 on 40" tires. During normal driving, the instant mpg would read 7.7, but when you got over 1/2 throttle, it'd read 0. :D It was reasonably fun to drive.
