Pelosi WILL NOT bring this to the floor because she is a Jackal working with the wolves. Forget it. She needs to be OUT as a speaker, or the vote tally has to be that magic number of 280 (or something like that).

I just received a hard copy of the petition in the mail. I am signing it and sending it in. No harm in doing so. It may just show how strong we are as a political force with all the sigs. ;)

She is a political creature if enough people sign on she would. Yes she need to lose her seat, but she still has it so gotta work with what we have. If it is a 100% lost cause why would C4L even worry about making the petition?

auditing the Fed is a bigger priority to me. I would love to see her gone, but I think it is more important and will do more good to audit the Fed

I also just wrote to my Representative too.

Mr. Costello,

I have written you many times in the last two years, and have been happy with some of the replies your employees have sent back.

I am writing to you now about HR 1207.

I want you to sign on as a co-sponsor to this resolution. You are my representation in Congress, so please represent my wishes. This is a very, very important piece of legislation, and I want you on board with it. We, the People, want to know what the Federal Reserve has done with our money. We want an audit. If something looks fishy on my tax returns, the IRS has no issue with auditing me. I want the same for our 4th branch of Government. They have had no oversight since their inception. They make and spend MY money, and I want to know what they have spent it on.

If you do not want to become a co-sponsor to this legislation, I demand that you, personally, give me reasoning for not being on board.

I do not want a form letter sent back to me. Mr. Durbin has only responded to me by form letter, and did not answer my questions. Guess who will not be voting for him in the next election? That's right.....ME.

Mr. Burris doesn't even have the decency to send a form letter reply. But I didn't ask for his representation anyway, and will not be voting him back to his position.

And please, don't tell me what the Federal Reserve does, I understand how it works. I want an audit of the entire thing.

I will be awaiting your reply, Mr. Costello.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Now that Grayson and major liberal media outlets like FDL are working to get the democrats on board, this puts even more pressure on that witch Pelosi.

GO FDL GO!

Code Pink, if you are reading this please re-establish Camp Pelosi until she supports HR1207.

No other bill does more to stop present and future wars. We help stop funding for present and future wars by getting the Fed's activities monitored.

One random question? Is an audit of the fed even constitutional? Nowhere in the Constitution does it give the federal government the power to audit an unconstitutional agency...

Congress has the power of the purse- meaning- it needs to account for the money it spends. it has only been reporting on one half of the total picture.
The cartel agreement allowed a select group of private banks to enjoy a government protected monopoly over our money supply. That trust needs to be broken.

Blasted my rep again.

But I'm getting very tired of his replies.

Mr. Costello,

I have written to you several times concerning HR 1207 and your need to become a co-sponsor.

This is your reply:

"Dear :

I wanted to drop you a note to let you know I received your message regarding H.R. 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with me. I share your interest in making sure our financial system is strong, efficient, and works for all Americans. I also believe there should be strict oversight and transparency in our financial system to protect Americans. Our current financial crisis demonstrates the importance of accountability and clarity in all financial matters.

As you know, H.R. 1207 calls for an audit of the Federal Reserve and a report to congressional leadership with the results of that audit. This legislation has been referred to the Financial Services Committee for further consideration. Please be assured, should this measure come before the full House for a vote, I will keep your views in mind.

If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Jerry F. Costello
Member of Congress"

There are 9 out of 19 representatives in Illinois on board with this legislation.

I want your name on it too.

If you do not agree with this, I want to know why. In writing.

Do not send me a bullshit reply like the one above. This gives me no idea where you stand on this. You either will co-sponsor, or you won't. If you won't, since I vote for you, I want to know why.

Please advise.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

If this doesn't work, I will be making a visit to his office to discuss in person, I guess

Pelosi won't bring it to the floor for a vote until it has 218, and then it will pass nearly unanimously so all the milquetoast douchebags can go tell their constituents how they watched out for them against the big bad Fed. I have already told my congressman on multiple occasions that ain't gonna cut it, his current position is "He will wait for a floor vote to form an opinion." When it happens and he is telling everyone how awesome he is I will be writing letters to the editor, doing everyhting I can to make it clear that he did NOT support this bill when it mattered, and when it would have made a difference.

I think I heard that Pelosi is actually under no obligation to bring the bill to the floor regardless of how many cosponsors there are. And that something called a "discharge petition" would be the alternative in such a situation. But apparently it's bad form, in the situation of a bipartisan sponsored bill, for members in the same party as the Speaker to sign such a petition.

I am still on Jerry Costello, but he is so far up Obama's ass that he could tell you what the Pres had for dinner last night.

I hope that this goes all the way.

If Pelosi doesn't let this thing hit the floor for a vote, then what are we going to do?

I think once it hits 218 (majority) it has to be brought to the floor

Just got word from C4L that it's at 222!!!

June 11, 2009

Dear Friend of Liberty,

We wanted to make sure you were the first to know that your hard work and dedication has resulted in Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill, HR 1207, gaining the support of a majority of the House of Representatives!

Just moments ago, Dr. Paul's congressional office issued a press release announcing that HR 1207 had received its 218th cosponsor, and that the list has now grown to 222!

Read their press release here. http://echo4.bluehornet.com/ct/4809443:5676774547:m:1:315512240:C9D6F6BBFDA8A8290 D809B61CF51771B

Since our last update put the number at 207 on Tuesday, here is the list of representatives that have signed on:

-Rep. David Loebsack
-Rep. Gary Miller
-Rep. Frank Wolf
-Rep. Corrine Brown
-Rep. Jackie Speier
-Rep. Bruce Braley
-Rep. Donna Edwards
-Rep. Bobby Bright
-Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao
-Rep. Jared Polis
-Rep. Dennis Kucinich
-Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon
-Rep. Howard Coble
-Rep. Jean Schmidt
-Rep. Heath Shuler

This is an incredible victory for the freedom movement, but our work to Audit the Fed is only just beginning! Now we must concentrate on seeing the bill through the committee process and getting it to the House floor for a vote.

With your continued support, we will do just that. Together, we will restore transparency to our nation's monetary system.

Thank you for all you do for the cause of liberty!

In Liberty,

John Tate

Badass!!!

I am writing to Costello again. He's the only one that may listen. Lord knows that Burris won't. It took him over 2 mos. to answer me and then sent me a form letter.

That's okay, I will show my appreciation next year!!

Zero Hedge now saying 240,

"Remember, the voice of the masses does not go unnoticed: the amazing grass roots support for HR1207 is the main reason the "Audit The Fed" bill generated not only enough co-sponsors to pass congressional voting, but is now at over 240 supporters - a staggering result for a bill that only had 160 supporters the week before Zero Hedge decided to take the issue public. Also, numerous ZH FOIA requests have proven successful mostly due to material reader support and participation."

Not sure how accurate, but that is what they are saying.

Ron Paul's bill H.R. 1207 currently has 165 co-sponsors, but Nancy Pelosi has not brough it to the floor. The above link is to a petition hosted by Campaign for Liberty urging Pelosi to bring it to the floor for a vote.

If you haven't signed this yet; get on it Mr.

I signed the petition! We need to audit the fed now before it destroys everything we worked so hard for in this country!
