It would be nice if, of all the links on the page, clicking the DONATE link would take you to the DONATE screen. The center flash widget has "DONATE" take you to the DONATION WIDGET, it should be renamed ASAP. See circled below in green

What is the maximum one can contribute to the campaign? It should be listed somewhere on the donation page. If there is no limit that should also be mentioned.

Site looks great - One suggestion, colorize Rand's photo a bit more - he looks a little sickly in that pic. :) Otherwise the site looks slick!

What's the address to mail a check? I'd rather Rand didn't have to pay the 3+% in credit card fees.

$2400

It's listed in the donation page.

1.) I don't see it anywhere. All I see is the top option for $2400 and a blank entry form that I assume I could put anything into.
2.) It should be EXPLICITLY noted so that someone doesn't donate too much. Yes it does happen and yes it is a pain for the campaign. It should also be noted if there are different rules for Primary vs General so that people don't hold of donating for whatever reason.

Thanks! Keep up the good work guys.

They should be able to use a little JavaScript that will disallow any value over 2400.

As to anyone donating the max - you probably don't want to. Reason being is that later you will probably want to buy something from the campaign - a T, a button, a yard sign... something, yet doing so would be considered a campaign donation and put you and the campaign in violation of federal law. Hold back a bit if you are so inclined.

Secondly, the web site looks totally crappy - to me. Why? - well, I'm running off a bootable Ubuntu CD ie: no flash, and it will look that way until I can get a new HD/OS installed. I also have no audio and can't view youtubes right now. Nor is there any way for me to donate. DO NOT make stupid assumptions about your audience and their viewing capabilities. Assume the lowest common denominator.

Regardless of how you technically prevent someone from doing this, there are those who will want to donate the maximum and having the max stated on the page is just good policy. On other campaign sites there is usually text about the Spouse and Family members being able to donate as well as a way to increase the maximum in a household. As much as it sucks, this race will be about the money. So an example (A married couple Tim and Mary Smith could donate $4800, $2400 from Tim and $2400 from Mary.) It is a bad idea to assume.

Good to see you are working on PayPal and Check options as well. Let me know if you run into issues with PayPal.

I agree, there should be a low-fi version. This IS Kentucky and I hate to say it but Broadband penetration here is low. Site developer, contact me if you'd like some help with DHTML / JPEG alternatives to some of the flash. (We talked on the phone last week about logos).

One thing of note, the site uses a lot of PNG images, which is fine technically, but it prevents sites like facebook and others from pulling logos and other images for use as thumbnails for posts as the scripts are looking for JPGs. I'd switch the logo URL and others to JPGs because the images on facebook now are VERY limiting and not enticing at all.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, but this isn't a technical issue it is a MARKETING issue. The information needs to be there. Trust me. I've had 2 friends already ask if $2400 was the max and how they could get around it. Anecdotal? Sure, but if I know two people I'm sure there will be others.

Agreed. I don't have $2,400 to throw around (thanks to big gov't, mostly), but if I did, I'd be more likely to give that much if I were told it was the maximum. Otherwise, I might think $2k was a good round figure to donate, and you've lost $400 as a result.

Hey guys. Keep up the good work.

Do you guys have a bug tracking or ticket system?

I think these need to be fixed ASAP in order of importance:
Donate pages on IEs, Opera

Home page on IEs w/o Flash

IE8 Donate page: (IE still has 42+ % market share)

http://www.cando.com/eric/uploads/IE8 donate page.jpg

IE7 Donate page:
http://www.cando.com/eric/uploads/ie 7 donate page.jpg

IE6 Donate page:

Opera Donate page
http://www.cando.com/eric/uploads/opera donate page.jpg

IE7 Home page
http://www.cando.com/eric/uploads/ie7 homepage.jpg

IE6 Home page

Most of the IE6 non-formatting issues could probably be handled with changing the png images to transparent gifs.

I've offered it once, I'll offer it again, if you need help with PayPal let me know. I worked at eBay for 5 years and PayPal and eBay have been our clients ever since... PM me, I'll give my phone number, skype, email, whatever. Let's get this done for the freedom movement! Come on!

Great job on the site.

FYI, it looks like there may be a problem with the form validation for credit card contributions. I submitted my info, and received a "Please fix the errors below" message. No fields are flagged as invalid, and as far as I can tell, all fields were filled in correctly.

If you could use an extra hand with the site's development, feel free to PM me, and I'll do anything I can for the cause of freedom. I'm primarily a sysadmin, but do a lot of web development work as well.

Suggestion:

The title for the main page should be changed to just "Rand Paul for US Senate 2010" instead of "Campaign HQ | Rand Paul 2010 U.S. Senator for Kentucky"

This may seem trivial, but it effects the way the page appears in google search results. It is important to have his name be the first think that is listed, instead of the generic "Campaign HQ." Also, the description in google results should be changed to something simple and short (1 line), instead of displaying a little part of the latest news story.

Take a look here. Notice how Specter and Coburns websites simply have their names as the title and it sticks out more. It would be easy to overlook the generic "Campaign HQ | ... " thing listed for Rand.
