Selling books, etc.

Does anyone see a problem with selling books and other C4L neutral items (i.e. pocket Constitutions) at gun shows, flea markets, etc? I'm referring to selling at near cost, with little to no markup.

Funny you should ask... I was just remembering that I had read somewhere that selling books on the street was one of the few things you can do in NYC without needing a permit.

At the very least I would cover your costs, and it seems that people value something more if they actually spend money for it ( or so I have been told by a man who's given millions of dollars of books away for free )

Sell at whatever price people are willing to pay. Don't worry about selling at cost. Then drive the profits back into it and sell more.

I've been trying to get up the nerve to move forward on this plan:

Buy 10 or 20 copies of Grace Llewellyn's "Teenage Liberation handbook" and sell them to kids coming out of the local high school.

I have always been intimidated by strangers - unless they are under, say, 7 years old. Any encouragement would be helpful. I'm very left brained, but right-brained enough to know how bad things are, and I think this book will help fix them, slowly but surely.
