Hey guys - Just wondering if anyone is keeping a list somewhere of freedom candidates considering or planning a run in 2010?

If not, post them here when you hear about them! I'd like to get as many of them as possible on Freedom Watch, because this time around, I WANT US TO WIN SOME!!!

Here's who I'm aware of so far:

Confirmed:
RJ Harris
Adam Kokesh

Considering:
Rand Paul
Peter Schiff (not sure if he's considering, or if it's wishful thinking)

And has anyone heard from BJ Lawson?

There's a website called retakecongress.com (http://www.retakecongress.com) which has a few candidates listed.

If someone wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate someone making some starter articles for candidates in the LF Wiki here as I did with Kokesh: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/nuwiki.php?do=book.view&bookid=15

Once I'm done with "full-time" school, I'll be able to maintain it with lots of info on all the pages.

This time we need to focus on a few winnable races rather than a few dozen with no chance.
The ideal situation would be Rand Paul, Peter Schiff, BJ Lawson, and Adam Kokesh.
And Shelly, Peter recently mentioned that he is now "seriously considering" running, and will give a definitive yes or no after weighing the pros and cons for a few weeks.

Shelly, I sent BJ a message on Facebook back in late March. In the message I mentioned something about 2010 and this was his response:

"Thanks for defending liberty as well, Mike -- Don't know if I'll run again in NC-04 -- the district is so heavily gerrymandered that the straight party ticket voting option gives it to the Democratic nominee. We'll see what other opportunities arise once the dust clears from this pending "recovery" madness :-/"

Possibly me, I'll make a decision after I contact the state version of the FEC about when I can file papers with them because I am not technically qualified for the office yet, but I will be when I have to file the official ballot petition. Party: Anti-Federalist

hahah you're the man. Is there really an anti-federalist party still?

I am forming it. If you scroll down in General Politics, you'll see the thread. Also, if you look up "Anti-Federalist Party" on Google, the thread is on the second page.

The gubernatorial races are the most important. We need strong state sovereignty Constitutional governors to resist federal tyranny. See http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2009/cbarchive_20090320.html

That's not a bad idea on Lawson's part. North Carolina is due to pick up another seat in the House after if redistricts after the 2010 census. Right now NC's general assembly is majority Democrat. But if the 2010 elections favor the Republicans (as they well might), then it could end up being Republicans drawing the new districts. Either way, there's a chance that after the new lines are drawn, Lawson might find himself more favorably situated.
