anyone know about how many cosponsors bills that are passed have?

Overall, the number itself doesn't matter. Bills can pass with zero co-sponsors.

To get it immediately out of committee; 218 co-sponsors are required.

It is completely up to Frank to put it on the agenda. Even if with 218 cosponsors, he can refuse to do so. It wouldn't be the wisest political move, but there are no rules against that.

In order to get it out of committee without the approval of Frank, we would have to circulate a separate Discharge Petition that requires 218 signatures. I think it would be harder to get signatures for the petition to discharge than to get cosponsors.

That said, if we get our 218 cosponsors, I think the old purple dinosaur will put it on the agenda.

I'm gonna call my rep later today. He says he's a conservative. Let's see. :)

Frank co-sponsored HR1388 with Ron Paul, he would be an idiot not to approve it.


That said, we should keep pushing until there is no option, nor any temptation whatsoever.

It would be nice to get a few more Dems on there. I'm still working on my so called republican here.
