View Full Version : Is July 4th a bad day for a Money Bomb?

I made the suggestion that Adam Kokesh should have his money bomb on July 4th, to celebrate independence day but someone suggested that it would be a bad idea because it's a "National Holiday"

People will be out with their families, watching fireworks, celebrating, etc.

The other Option is July 6th, because apparently the first American dollar was founded on July 6th 1875.

Anyways, I personally think Independence day is a very Rich theme to work with, although i'm not sure about how much a "national holiday" could affect donations.

Wasn't the MLK money bomb on a "National Holiday"?

What do you guys think?

It shouldn't make a difference since it can be done online anytime in that 24 hour period. It would only take a few minutes out of the day everyone has that much time, even on a national holiday. I think July 4th would be a great day.

Yea, i agree that July 4th would be a great day. Even if people are out with there families, it will be a good time to talk about Adam's campaign and encourage more people to donate some money for independence day :cool:

It's an important holiday that is directly relevant to Adam's platform.

There could maybe even be some sort of July 4th, money bomb party, in Adam's state or something like that.

Generally money bombs take place on one day, to try and break 1 day records, i believe.

It's always more impressive when you can raise a but load of money in 1 day :)

Make it a day of your own. July 4th is also slated as the next tea party day I might add (http://www.reteaparty.com).

July 6th is the monday after the tea parties so it could help.

July 4th is a better day as far as symbolism goes. The anniversary of the US dollar? c'mon...

While I would agree that July 4th is important as Independence Day, a moneybomb in the middle of the summer when most are out and about is probably not going to cause the fireworks which we would hope would occur.

While I am all for shooting for $1,000,000, $100,000, $10,000....on July 4th in the middle of the summer in an off-year for election purposes, I'd be pleased with $1,000, especially given the recession.

The problem with "3 days", is i don't think it's effective marketing.

The last money bombs were successful partially because they were highly targeted campaigns, with good, emotional and relevant video advertising focused on a specific subject.


If we do 3 days, i think it won't be as exciting, and we will lose the sense of urgency.

That's just my thoughts though.

I'm thinking we're probably at the point where we can make the final decision to have it on July 4th. It's clearly the favorite of the forum.
