Awesome! It's gonna be hard to justify a "no" vote on this bill. Now we just need some movement to get it out of committee and on to the floor for the House vote.

I mentioned her yesterday in my conversation with Peter Welch's policy guy.

Nice! Keep up the work! She was actually one of the first few Dems to co-sponsor, way back in early March IRCC. You might gain some ground with Welch considering he voted against the TARP, while Woolsey voted no the first time and yes after the pork was injected.

Why do you suppose there isn't more Democrats supporting this?? What are they afraid of??

I don't know what the Dems are scared of. Kucinich especially. With his "no more federal than federal express" rant, people know he's against the Fed. What has he got to lose? I am losing respect for him daily, with every co-sponsor who signs on ahead of him. A few months ago I would have sworn that he'd be one of the first to jump on.

In a way, Kucinich not being onboard may be a good thing. The rank and file Democrats aren't particularly fond of him.

Have you talked to your congressman? Did they give you an answer about why they won't co-sponsor?

We need more dems! keep up the pressure, keep sending emails, faxes and calling. i sent a fax to each member of the financial services comittee that hasnt cosponsored and i'll be sending them a fax every day until they do!!!

I agree that its good Kucinich hasn't co-sponsored yet...he's quite a black sheep in the democratic party, i think we should forget him for now and then bomb him when it comes time for the vote, if we still need him

it'd be really good to do another fax/email/phone bomb to all the members of the comittee who havent cosponsored yet!

I have writing Congressman Mike Ross three times on this bill. I always get a response back from them on other issues, but for some reason not this one. maybe I can get some help from some of the people on here.

Sending another letter tomorrow.

How about the Joint Economic Commitee (JEC)? ALL the Republican members of the JEC are on the Co-Sponsor list.

NONE of the JEC Democrats are co-sponsoring HR 1207... You figure the democratic members would co-sponsor, considering they're asking questions of Bernake today! Appears to be Political Window Dressing and they're OWNED by the BANKS/FINANCIALS.

Woo, finally. My rep does have a brain after all!

Finally, a R from Washington. Now you just have to ask her to kick Dave Reichert's ass for me. he's received plenty of encouragement from folks in our district. and, given that he's squeaked out victories the last two election cycles, i'm about ready to start making promises to him about ensuring he doesn't get back there.

Sheriff Dave, who takes credit for solving the "Green River" murder cases but passes-the-buck on the WTO riots, said something to the effect of, "we don't know where the money went."

like everything else in our state, the Ds are winning this battle as well - 2-1 .

Also about halfway down, I have the list of the Financial Services committee with an indicator for which have co-sponsored.

Keep working on your Congressmen to cosponsor 1207 Also note that just because someone doesn't cosponsor the bill doesn't mean they wont vote for it.

Anyone who has already had their congressman cosponsor the bill needs to contact both of their senators to prime them up. I sent a letter to my Senators and basically named reasons they could agree and sympathize with me to support Federal Reserve transparency and asked them to introduce legislation or support similar legislation. Now when 1207 passes the House then I will send a letter to the senate reminding them of the last letter I sent and again encourage them to support 1207.
