I keep hearing this a lot lately from "leading conservatives" and the talk show hosts.

They whine that there is "no body out there yet".....really pisses me off how they can just IGNORE Ron Paul when he's right under their nose.

They're fighting turning to Dr. Paul as the leader because they all laughed and made fun of the real conservative values that Dr. Paul represents.

They know what hypocrits they would appear, and they don't want that to happen.

They remind me of little whiney children.

lol...

One problem is that Dr Paul is kind of old, which gives them an easy excuse to try to ignore him. :(

Not to mention that his strong, principled ideas embarrass the GOP socialists.

They want someone who can find a way for us to be able to afford to continue to kick everyone's asses without actually having to sacrifice in the process. One of these days, they'll just have to wake up and smell the coffee. A republican form of government and imperialism never have mixed successfully for any serious length of time. And we're not succeeding in disproving that axiom.

Yeah, and everything you need to know about it is in that statement.

Leading conservatives are looking for a leader?
Leaders don't look for a leader. They look for followers.
Although they might (like in this case) look for a figurehead, or a scapegoat.

The reason they're not looking at RP is because of exactly that. They're convinced that the only reason the R's lost is because they didn't play the cult of personality game as well as the D's. They will never turn to Dr. Paul because when it comes to the personality cult, he is not only awful at that game, but refuses to play.

When you're looking for a "leader" to make the mouth-breathers get into line, the last guy you're going to tap is the one who keeps talking about the general uselessness of having leaders.

That's because they want someone who will say what they want to hear and not say what they dont want to hear.

It's how politics works...

Most conservatives don't even understand the meaning of conservatism.

Even if Ron Paul has the personal charisma of Sean Connery, they would not support him. At the end of the day, the "conservative leaders" still answer to - and get paid by - the very same ruling establishment that they rail against.
