As much as I've followed politics since about 2003, I don't know when usually politicians officially retire. The only one I can explicately remember is Tom Tancredo announcing it in December of the year prior the election (in this case, December 2007.)

Any idea on how long Bunning may draw this out? Any chance the NRSC (http://www.nrsc.org/) may tell Bunning to draw it out to give more money raising time to Grayson? That wouldn't surprise me.

There is the State Lincoln Dinner May 9th, might be a prime moment for this to happen.

State Lincoln Dinner
Saturday, May 9th
Galt House Hotel (Grand Ballroom A, East Tower)
Louisville, KY
Reception 6:00 p.m.
Dinner 7:00 p.m.

McConnell, Bunning, Guthrie, Rogers, David Williams, and Trey Grayson will all be speaking.
I think 1000 of us should show up with "Rand Paul for Senate" signs :p;):D
