Damn. I don't usually come across something that I think is "profound" but damn, that was it.

My favorite author. I probably wouldn't be involved in this campaign if it weren't for her writing.

Will people get this if they haven't read Atlas Shrugged?

Peoples damn home movies drive me crazy. I'm getting sick of them. Just give me the dang information already. If it takes 60 seconds to put one sentence of text on the screen and two hymns to motivate me then obviously the content is lacking and the author knows it. If it's supposed to be a work of art then label it as such. Gosh i am so sick of people labeling their artistic skills as information. That was not a speech it was someone toying with their (wannabe)artistic skills. Freaking annoying.

Perry,

Are you familiar with Galt's speech? It is from Ayn Rand's book Atlas Shrugged.

No i am not. I will look into it. For the record my comments reflected no opinion on his speech.

My thoughts exactly, although long, the speech is one of the most profound and inspiring things I've ever read.

The speech is great, but I think the funniest part of the video is that the speech actually does begin with:

"Ladies and gentlemen," said a voice that came from the receiver - a man's clear, calm, implacable voice, the kind of voice that had not been heard on the airwaves for years - "Mr. Thompson will not speak to you tonight. His time is up."

It's the role Fred Thompson was born to play! Including that campaign video into the beginning was pure perfection.
