It always concerns me that Peter discusses the current economic situation without fully addressing the history behind the transfer of the USA's industrial economic engine to China. The USA's loss in production happened because Western leaders worked over many decades to facilitate this transfer of wealth, finally passing the GATT treaty to formalize the arrangement.

So, I don't agree with the perspective Peter lays-out in this video, as it makes it sound as if everyone just showed-up on the island with nothing and that the American took advantage of the others. But actually, the American brought with him to the island all the knowhow, the tooling, the market, and the capital. All the Chinese have to do is bring cheap labor and they then immediately benefit from the newly created profits. The Chinese did not need to take any risk, or invest any upfront capital to gain these new found profits.
