Regents approved Arizona State University's surcharge request of $510 for in-state students and $710 for out-of-state students.
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) _ The Arizona Board of Regents voted Thursday to approve tuition surcharges for the state's three public universities that would add hundreds of dollars a year to student costs.
The university presidents sought the new fees as a way to make up for a 20 percent cut in their state funding. All their requests were lower than first sought.
Regents approved Arizona State University's surcharge request of $510 for in-state students and $710 for out-of-state students.
They approved the University of Arizona's reduced request of $766 for residents and $966 for nonresidents.
And they approved Northern Arizona University's request of $422 for state residents and $522 for nonresidents.
