If you love liberty and freedom then this is great news!

Think about how easy it will be to convince your friends and neighbors that low taxes, less regulation and personal freedom is the ONE TRUE PATH for America when the un-filabustable Democrats shove through MASSIVE tax increases layered on thick as cream.

Imagine your small business owner buddy spitting like mad when he complains about the huge piles of hot, steaming regulation that the out of control Dems hoist upon his back. Now imagine his reaction when you share with him the Church of Ron Paul and Its Ideals. He will light up like a schoolchild on Christmas Eve.

Yeah...in the short run this just continues the disaster of current politics.

But in the long run you will see a 1,000,000 person freedom and liberty march right up to Obama's front door.

I think it's good news too.

If nothing else it shows that the two parties are just two wings on the same bird of prey. It's all the same.

Zionist Joe Lieberman loses in the primaries as a Democrat...so he switches to Independent

Zionist Arlen Specter was going to lose in the primaries..so he switches to Democrat...

Men like Specter and Lieberman have ZERO loyalty except to themselves and to Israel...

Specter should take those c***s Olympia Snowe and Susan Colins with him....and throw in McCain and the homosexual Lindsey Graham too

Well the Republican party at least should celebrate and be glad to be rid of him.

They should all switch over.

Leaving Ron Paul as the only Republican.

Wouldn't change anything.

The Progressive wing of the Republican Party should have died with Hoover, or at least Nixon. It's on life support now. It's time to pull the plug.

How will the people respond to the switch in 2010? Was it a wise move to switch to the party in power when in off-year elections, the party usually suffers?

He would have been thrashed in the primary. He's not looking beyond that point.

I hope there is a liberty loving republican out there that is going to run on the R ticket and not another hand picked neocon

Specter was losing badly in the polls for 2010 GOP primary, so he saw his chance and he took it.

Having switched my registration to R over a year ago, I think it great news. Now if only Cheney, Hatch and a few others would do the same, entertaining the passing thought that I'm registered a Republican might not give me the urge to take a thorough shower and get myself clean at all...

Indeed, as failures of statism continue to pile up, it will be easier to make the case for individualism!:D:)

Hmm... Max, I hope you didn't break the keyboard like I do. ;)

Frankly, I don't know how Maine can tolerate those to Republicrats and their Socialism. When are Maine and Pennsylvania voters going to have RECALLS on these liars and thieves?

I truly don't think you should be allowed to change party affiliations. Boy, are we getting Swindled by both parties now. Americans, sooner or later, are going to have another Revolution, because this is intolerable. This past year has proved, it's all: About Government, By Government, and For Government.

How much more can they steal?

The question is... Will police, National Guard, and Tyranny, shoot upon the people?

It will infuriate the party. The people were screwed without the change anyway.

As a Pennsylvanian Republican (of the RP variety, of course :D) I can't say I'm all that surprised. Democrats I know have always voted for him anyway. He was definitely a RINO for the most part. Any iota of respect I had for him was destroyed after the whole bailout vote switch. Good riddance, and I hope you lose your seat as a D.

The thing I dont get is...he's against abortion, pro-death penatly, against gun control...

Doesn't make a difference though, he's a zionist neocon, he fits in just perfectly with either party...

Hell, even Reagan.

What do you expect from a Warren Commission stooge? Here he is demonstrating the "single bullet" theory.

he should have done it in an honorable way, as Phil Graham did-resign and then run for the open seat. in some countries such as India this is law.
