I listened to it earlier and agree it's a must listen. I recorded another interview from around the same time (concerning Iceland) and put it on youtube if you're interested:

This other Hudson interview is even better. Just excellent. If you don't want to listen to the entire interview, then definitely start at minute 40:00, where Hudson basically says:

Foreign elites are pissed-off 'cause they are NOT getting enough for
selling-out their own countries and are pissed at the working class for getting
TOO BIG A SHARE!!!

I found a link for direct download link for the entire interview (MP3)

Thank you! I was looking for a mp3 version of the Iceland interview. I've been adding many Michael Hudson entries in my blog today and will add this entry tomorrow. He brings critical analysis of the whole financial and political regime with much needed historical perspective. What has been lacking from other analysts has been the motivations and the whys of such financial models and the relevance and comparison to past phenomenas.

Am I misunderstanding or does this guy seem to like Karl Marx?

I've heard him praise Marx in 2 ways:
- he says Marx, along with other classical economists like Adam Smith and John Stuart Mill, wanted to do away with a "Toll booth economy" and remove barriers that interfere w/ economic transactions
- he claims that Marx's ideas if implemented as Marx wanted would result in a withering away of the state

Hudson thinks Austrians are wrong about credit, but does agree the income tax should be abolished

I've collected all the interesting Dr. Michael Hudson material on my blog. OurLongRoad, I stole your quote. :)

It can be found, with indulgence, at http://www.askbutwhy.com/search/label/Michael%20Hudson.

This is the best stuff I've run into this year. The doctor makes everything clear and simple to understand and decipher.

ENJOY!!!!
