Hmmm, i prefered the way the first one was phrased, yet i agreed more with the second one in principle.

im adding the option, ,once again no one is forced into state marriage .they agree on it by going to the courthhouse. can you please show me where someone was forced to marry by the state??

poll is useless, no one is forced to marry by the state or church. they agree to!! silly argument

Not force, incentive. Tax cuts. Insurance benefits.

Well your poll was confusing. I mean who actually believes churches should be forced by the government to marry a gay couple?

Does the government currently force any churches to marry straight couples?

Not that I know of. Why?

In most native tribes, a couple were married if they said they were married, and were divorced if they said they were divorced. And none had any lawyers in the tribe that I've ever heard of. No health insurance, either.

Which just proves that America was once civilized.

It isn't about forcing people to marry, it is about forcing people to recognize marriage and the fact that you ask for permission when you apply for a marriage certificate. You shouldn't have to ask the government about it.
