People were. Those in Lower Manhattan with westward windows saw a huge E-4 or 747 banking hard right and heading straight towards them with a fighter jet following behind extremely low to the point the engine roar was setting off car alarms.

Yes this is very irresponsible. I work in NYC (Midtown) I heard about it about a half hour after it happened and seen the video and this plane was not in any flight pattern or path and was flying wayyy to low. Helicopters in the area fly low around the bay and the 2 rivers but not right over the lower westside (ground zero area/WFC) and circles. I would have reacted the same way if I was in a highrise in lower Manhattan.

First, after 9/11, authorizing a low flyover jumbo jet is dumb. Anyone with half a brain could have called that.

Second, why is the Federal government spending money on this? It costs thousands of dollars an hour to keep those aircraft flying. This was for a photo op. What about the millions of people who are out of work, or the businesses that are getting shut down?!
