I say " I was Ron Paul grassroots whip. I am basically non-political but I saw the statesman in Ron Paul for years and knew we needed such an individual at this time. I am more of a historian." He says.."I am National Guard. They are calling the Guard back to fuck with Americans." I said "Yeah..what are you gonna do?". He says.. "I ain't taking any bogus orders". We talked about 15 minutes. I told him of the oathkeepers site and to let his platoon know about it. And if he gets bogus orders to arrest the issuer..or stand down. He agreed and went on his way..He could look me straight in the eye by the end of the conversation.

You handled that situation beautifully Sir. You have my respect.

In the early days of the LP, it was common in situations like that for the libertarian to proudly declare, "fuck the state!" Although the sentiment is commendable, accurately reflects our point of view, and feels good to announce, it is clearly counterproductive. All it accomplished in the minds of the receiver was to deduce that libertarians are rude and foul mouthed. (I admit to both, but generally don't advertise it).

Well, as usual, Ron Paul has proven a great many of his critics wrong. By remaining in Congress he has not only given himself instant credibility with the media, but also and endless bully pulpit. He is on CNN it seems at least twice a week and is often the "Republican" response to government excess. His plan to take care of the pirates with letters of marque ran on my local radio station.

I got 100 signatures for HR 1207 today. People downtown know bad stuff is going on. One person said to her friends, "yeah, all our money is based on debt. It's crazy."

Someone else at a different time said, "what happened to the real money? Like gold and silver?"

Interesting post, but we haven't won anything until the war is over. We still have a lot of work to do, my friend. Thank God people are finally waking up to the truth behind American politics because of Congressman Paul's courage and message. However, they still need to be trained and sent out to take back the seats of Congress, state legislatures, the Presidency, the Gubernatorial, and even our courts in order to regain the prominence which our constitutions (and Bible, I might add) once had in areas of lawmaking and jurisprudence. We are still engaged in the battlefield of ideas.

the major problem i see is the right wing and the old guard of the gop. gay marriage shouldn't even be an issue. if a church wants to make it an issue about the state ,then i think we should tax the church that wants to merge church and state.

alot of gop issues are very dividing and the reality is if your a republican and gay marriage is an issue then you failed to understand liberty. a church has the right to marry who they choose,but to think a state has any say so really makes me wonder what people think liberty is???
