2 swine flu cases confirmed in Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has confirmed two cases of swine flu in the state.

A department spokeswoman said additional details would be released at a news conference later Saturday.

New York City officials announced Saturday that eight students at a high school in Queens probably have swine flu, but they're unsure of the strain type. Swine flu cases also have been reported in California and Texas.

A strain of the flu has killed as many as 68 people and sickened more than 1,000 across Mexico. The World Health Organization chief said Saturday that the strain has "pandemic potential" and it may be too late to contain a sudden outbreak.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

NEW YORK (AP) — At least eight students at a New York City high school probably have human swine influenza, but authorities don't know whether they have the strain that has killed people in Mexico.

City health officials say more than 100 students at the private St. Francis Preparatory School in Queens have come down with a fever, sore throat and other aches and pains.

New York City Health Commissioner Thomas Frieden says a government lab needs to do more testing before authorities can pinpoint which strain of flu the students have.

Results are not expected until Sunday.

The symptoms in New York have all been mild and no students have been hospitalized, but the illnesses have caused concern because of an outbreak of a strain in Mexico responsible for as many as 68 deaths.

Deerfield-based medical product giant Baxter International Inc. is working with the World Health Organization on a potential vaccine to curb the spread of the swine flu outbreak in Mexico, the company confirmed today.

Baxter, which has a growing vaccine business, has worked with foreign countries in the past to develop vaccines for the H5N1 virus commonly known as bird flu. Baxter has a cell-based technology that allows the company to more rapidly produce vaccines in the event of a pandemic than a decades-old method that uses eggs to process vaccines and can take weeks or even months longer.

"Upon learning about the swine flu outbreak in Mexico yesterday, Baxter requested a virus sample from WHO to do laboratory testing for potentially developing an experimental vaccine," company spokesman Christopher Bona told the Tribune this afternoon. "Baxter has research and development and manufacturing pandemic planning expertise to rapidly develop candidate vaccines against potentially emerging influenza viruses."

In the past, Baxter has developed vaccines and worked with countries to stockpile vaccines even while they undergo experimental testing. The idea behind the government stockpiles, in the case of the bird flu, for example, is to prepare against outbreak.

The company would not say whether the U.S. or other countries have contacted Baxter. Other companies, too, develop vaccines and have been used to stockpile vaccines. It's unclear whether other vaccine makers have also contacted the WHO.

Because it's so early in the vaccine development process, Baxter would not estimate on when a candidate vaccine would emerge for potential use.

The Mexican government is working to control a swine flu outbreak that has killed more than 65 people and potentially infected more than 1,000 in recent weeks, according to government and news reports.

CDC Released official "Health Advisory Alert"

You can download it here [Right Click - Save As]
http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/pdf/HAN_042509.pdf

This is an official CDC Health Advisory
Distributed via Health Alert Network

April 25, 2009, 3:00 EST (03:00 PM EDT) CDCHAN-000281-2009-04-25-ALT-N

Investigation and Interim Recommendations:
Swine Influenza (H1N1)

CDC, in collaboration with public health officials in California and Texas, is investigating cases of febrile respiratory illness caused by swine influenza (H1N1) viruses. As of 11 AM (EDT) April 25, 2009, 8 laboratory confirmed cases of Swine Influenza infection have been confirmed in the United States. Four cases have been reported in San Diego County, California. Two cases have been reported in Imperial County California. Two cases have been reported in Guadalupe County, Texas. Of the 8 persons with available data, illness onsets occurred March 28-April 14, 2009. Age range was 7-54 y.o. Cases are 63% male.
The viruses contain a unique combination of gene segments that have not been reported previously among swine or human influenza viruses in the U.S. or elsewhere. At this time, CDC recommends the use of oseltamivir or zanamivir for the treatment of infection with swine influenza viruses. The H1N1 viruses are resistant to amantadine and rimantadine but not to oseltamivir or zanamivir. It is not anticipated that the seasonal influenza vaccine will provide protection against the swine flu H1N1 viruses.
CDC has also been working closely with public health officials in Mexico, Canada and the World Health Organization (WHO). Mexican public health authorities have reported increased levels of respiratory disease, including reports of severe pneumonia cases and deaths, in recent weeks. CDC is assisting public health authorities in Mexico by testing specimens and providing epidemiological support. As of 11:00 AM (EDT) April 25, 2009, 7 specimens from Mexico at CDC have tested positive for the same strain of swine influenza A (H1N1) as identified in U.S. cases. However, no clear data are available to assess the link between the increased disease reports in Mexico and the confirmation of swine influenza in a small number of specimens. WHO is monitoring international cases. Further information on international cases may be found at: http://www.who.int/csr/don/2009_04_24/en/index.html
Clinicians should consider swine influenza infection in the differential diagnosis of patients with febrile respiratory illness and who 1) live in San Diego or Imperial counties, California, or Guadalupe County, Texas, or traveled to these counties or 2) who traveled recently to Mexico or were in contact with persons who had febrile respiratory illness and were in one of the three U.S. counties or Mexico during the 7 days preceding their illness onset.
Patients who meet these criteria should be tested for influenza, and specimens positive for influenza should be sent to public health laboratories for further characterization. Clinicians who suspect swine influenza virus infections in humans should obtain a nasopharyngeal swab from the patient, place the swab in a viral transport medium, refrigerate the specimen, and then contact their state or local health department to facilitate transport and timely diagnosis at a state public health laboratory. CDC requests that state public health laboratories promptly send all influenza A specimens that cannot be subtyped to the CDC, Influenza Division, Virus Surveillance and Diagnostics Branch Laboratory.
Persons with febrile respiratory illness should stay home from work or school to avoid spreading infections (including influenza and other respiratory illnesses) to others in their communities. In addition, frequent hand washing can lessen the spread of respiratory illness.
CDC has not recommended that people avoid travel to affected areas at this time. Recommendations found at http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/contentSwineFluUS.aspx will help travelers reduce risk of infection and stay healthy.

Flu viruses spread in respiratory droplets caused by coughing and sneezing. They usually spread from close person-to-person contact, though sometimes people become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth, eyes or nose. The virus can live for as long as two hours on surfaces like doorknobs, desks and tables.

Healthy adults, infected with the virus, may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 5 days after becoming sick. That means that you can pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick.

Twenty additional cases of swine flu have been confirmed at a New York City school, boosting the total number of cases [in new york] to 28, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said today.

Bloomberg warned that there are another 17 students from the school, St. Francis Preparatory School in Queens, and as many as 100 of the students have fallen ill and will be tested for the virus.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Confirming 40 cases of swine flu in the U.S., the
Obama administration said Monday it was responding aggressively as if
the outbreak would spread into a full pandemic. Officials urged
Americans against most travel to Mexico as the virus that began there
spread to the United States and beyond. President Barack Obama urged
calm, saying there was reason for concern but not yet "a cause for
alarm." Yet just in case, administration officials said that they were
already waging a vigorous campaign of prevention, unsure of the
outbreak's severity or where it would show up next.

Statement by WHO Director-General, Dr Margaret Chan
27 April 2009

Swine influenza
The Emergency Committee, established in compliance with the International Health Regulations (2005), held its second meeting on 27 April 2009.

The Committee considered available data on confirmed outbreaks of A/H1N1 swine influenza in the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada. The Committee also considered reports of possible spread to additional countries.

On the advice of the Committee, the WHO Director-General decided on the following.

The Director-General has raised the level of influenza pandemic alert from the current phase 3 to phase 4.

http://www.who.int/entity/csr/disease/influenza/phase4.gif

The change to a higher phase of pandemic alert indicates that the likelihood of a pandemic has increased, but not that a pandemic is inevitable.

As further information becomes available, WHO may decide to either revert to phase 3 or raise the level of alert to another phase.

This decision was based primarily on epidemiological data demonstrating human-to-human transmission and the ability of the virus to cause community-level outbreaks.

Given the widespread presence of the virus, the Director-General considered that containment of the outbreak is not feasible. The current focus should be on mitigation measures.

The Director-General recommended not to close borders and not to restrict international travel. It was considered prudent for people who are ill to delay international travel and for people developing symptoms following international travel to seek medical attention.

The Director-General considered that production of seasonal influenza vaccine should continue at this time, subject to re-evaluation as the situation evolves. WHO will facilitate the process needed to develop a vaccine effective against A/H1N1 virus.

The Director-General stressed that all measures should conform with the purpose and scope of the International Health Regulations.

You believe the CDC? Just wash your hands and you'll never get any of these airborne illnesses...

Tamiflu is not going to save anyone. It's mildly effective if given before symptoms take off. And it has side-effects. Roche has ripped off the world selling that stuff.

After following WHO protocols in treating 41 victims of the H5N1 bird flu virus (19% of the worldwide cases of bird flu reported to date), Nguyen Tuong Van, MD, who runs the intensive care unit of the Center for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, Vietnam concluded that Tamiflu, the drug most widely stockpiled around the world to combat a potential bird flu pandemic, is "useless".[5] According to this article, the WHO confirmed Van's experience stating that Tamiflu has not been "widely successful in human patients", but speculated the drug has not been administered until late in the disease in many Asian countries.

swine influenza virus:has been developed in laboratories ???

"My level of concern is important," said Dr. Martin Fenstersheib, the health officer of Santa Clara. "We have a new virus, a new strain to spread from human to human, and we're seeing a virulent strain in Mexico that seems to be related.

"Is it the deadly mixture of swine influenza virus never before seen photos"

That this outbreak has "pandemic potential" and has been ordered stockpiling supplies of Tamiflu, known generically as oseltamivir, a pill that can treat and prevent flu infection, according to officials.

As we have emphasized above, those interested in introducing the vaccine Tamiflu is mainly global and Bilderberg member George Shultz, Lodewijk JR Vink and the former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. In fact, Rumsfeld himself, played a key role in the outbreak of swine flu in 1976 that urged the country to be vaccinated. Many batches of the vaccine were contaminated, resulting in hundreds of sick people and 52 deaths. The fact that the properties of the strain are completely new and that the virus spreads from person to person, and that healthy young people are affected in the worst case, has disturbing parallels with the deadly 1918 pandemic killed millions of people.

It is unclear why, if the virus is a new strain, public health officials are so sure that the mass vaccination programs, already being prepared, would necessarily be effective.

Certainly not be the first time that the deadly flu virus has been developed in laboratories and then be released with the intention of creating a pandemic.

The story first hit last month, Czech journalist secuestionaban if the shocking discovery of vaccines contaminated with the deadly bird flu virus that was distributed to 18 countries by the U.S. company Baxter were part of a conspiracy to cause a pandemic.

Since the probability of a mixture of live virus priovenientes biological weapons are introdzuzcan with the vaccine by accident is almost impossible, this leaves no other explanation that the contamination was a deliberate attempt to militarize the H5N1 virus at its ends stronger and distribute it through the conventional flu vaccines to people who then spread transmit airborne.

However, this is not the first time that the vaccine in which companies have been caught in the distribution of vaccines contaminated with a deadly virus.

In 2006 it was revealed that Bayer Corporation has discovered that injection of drugs, used by hemophiliacs, were contaminated with the HIV virus. they took it off the U.S. market only to dump it on the European, Asian and Latin American markets, knowingly Exposing thousands, most of them children, live to the HIV virus. Most victims were children hemophiliacs. .

Government officials in France were in jail for allowing the drugs were distributed. The documents show that the FDA colluded with Bayer to cover the scandal-enabled the deadly drug is distributed worldwide. Not always face the executives of Bayer arrest or prosecution in the United States.

In the UK, a 2007 outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Great Britain who put on high alert throughout the country had its origins in a government laboratory which is shared with an American pharmaceutical company, mirroring the deadly outbreak of 2001, which was also deliberately.

As we have emphasized above, those interested in introducing the vaccine Tamiflu...

Not sure how seriously I can take a blog that calls Tamiflu a vaccine. Tamiflu is a viral inhibitor, not a vaccine. Like I said, Roche is the main beneficiary of Tamiflu sales.

The lie/propaganda that Tamiflu is some kind of cure could serve many people's agendas/purposes. Who knows.
