WOW! Our government is out of control, and I thought that before seeing this too. What the hell is going on?

+1

The only reason I ever had a facebook was when Students for RP first came out. I hope Young Americans For Liberty doesn't end up relying on that horrid site.

Good info to get out there, no doubt.

But three years old.

Old news to me and other "conspiracy kooks", who have been raising hell about such things.

Not much you can do when idiots just throw all of into government's lap.

Nah, not directed at you.

Just making a point that "tinfoil hat kooks" like myself, had it right, once again.

It also shows just how much corruption is at the heart of our federal government. I'd just LOVE to hear the justifications for the government doing this sort of intelligence gathering on us.

Who cares?

I don't see what the big deal is. Facebook provides me a valuable service at no cost to me. If they want to use the info I willingly post on their website to generate ad revenue, good for them. Is it really a surprise that they would do this?

There's no proof they are doing this. The video just pointed out some insanely loose connection between DARPA and facebook. Watch the video again.

Not exactly shocking.
I for one am not canceling my FB acct.
What are they going to do with all this info?
I really don't think we should worry about this.

Peter Thiel, the angel investor who first invested in Facebook is a hardcore libertarian.

Hahaha, this is like 6 degrees of separation...

They portray the terms of service as if they are a rarity in today's social networking climate. What a joke, those terms are used in almost all social networking sites, and plenty of other web sites that you publish information/pictures to. Of course there are exceptions, such as those that use Creative Commons and whatnot, but still... This video is sensationalist.

I don't need some conspiracy theory to tell me that putting a detailed profile of my life that includes my likes, dislikes, habits, educational background, etc. online poses a risk of being mined by the government, or by some ad agency, or by the web site itself.

Common sense, folks.
