I actually have to say I think she's not quite lying. It sounds to me that what the situation was is that during a briefing session the waterboarding and other interrogation techniques issues were brought up as techniques that could potentially be used, but them I'm sure it was said "Oh, but only in a ticking bomb situation and we'll be sure to inform you if we ever do need to use it."

And then if anyone raised an objection, I'm sure it was poo-pooed with a "Well we've received legal counsel from a number of sources informing us that we can do this" and then that was the end of what they were informed of. The committee still should have been more vigilant I'm sure, but I tend to trust that Pelosi's hands really were tied and that whatever information she received was probably misleading or understated.

And I'm usually the last person to put ANY faith in Nancy Pe-friggin-losi.
