H.R. 1207 Smoking Hot! (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=16704)

Posted by Jesse Benton on 04/23/09

I have some tremendous news to report: as of 3:00 pm ET today, H.R. 1207 has 88 cosponsors! That is 33 new cosponsors this week!!

And, there are even more to come.

I have been up on Capitol Hill all week meeting with congressional staff, and the reception has been unbelievable. In additional to those who got on today, I have received several additional commitments from members to cosponsor the bill in the coming days. And, I have five more appointments tomorrow. Between our Hill lobbying, the work of Dr. Paul’s congressional staff and the work of all of the tremendous grassroots activists in our movement, we are making progress unthinkable a few years ago.

We can win. We can pass H.R. 1207 this year, and finally audit the Federal Reserve. We still have a long way to go, and a lot of hard work to do, but if we stick together and work hard, we can do it.

I am so proud to be a part of this effort. Please keep it up, and thanks for all you do.

The Senate is where we're really going to have an uphill battle.

This is simply great. I never knew the House would be open to this stuff. If enough gets out, this could possibly help Paul a lot on the national level.

Pass it in the U.S. House, THEN worry about the Senate.

Keep up the faxes, e-mails, phone calls, personal visits, letters, etc.!

Bobby Bright (a freshman 'Blue Dog Coalition' Dem) is holed up and will not budge. I highly doubt he will since this district is heavily influenced by the military industrial complex.

Guess I'll have to step it up a notch. Hope it goes better than who he replaced, a friend of his (Terry Everett - R), who voted for the original bailout (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=164091).

This is really picking up now. How many cosponsors are there usually on a bill before it goes through the legislative process to be voted on?

Go to his office and tell his staff you will be passing out flyers to his constituents that detail how he does not stand for honesty and transparency in government.

It's a great litmus test.

find out when he will be at his local office, bring a video camera and ask him on the record for his support.
then publish to youtube and send an email to all your C4L buds to pass around.

I sent a letter to my rep saying the cool democrat in the district next door just supported it and he should too.

Hr 1207 is the bill that would end the Federal Reserve, right?

Hr 1207 is the bill that would end the Federal Reserve, right?
haha, no
Ron Paul's the only one sponsoring that one (HR 833)
This is simply to audit the fed.

it would vicariously, because once the public knew what they were doing.. then the next bill people would be screaming for would be to abolish it.

Lets get this pass the congress. Then the Senate then impeach Obama for vetoing it as an act of treason against the American people. (Just kidding about the impeachment part)

Paulson, Bernake, Blair, et al... have buried 'THE FED'. Look for lot's of damage control from Rahm Emanuel and the Department of propaganda.

Pelosi, Reid, Hoyer, Obama, Obey, Feinstein, Shumer, Dodd, and the rest of the lefties will do everything in their power to; kill, delay, sabotage, and/or alter H.R. 1207.

PS: Don't count on John Boehner or Eric Cantor to assist in HR 1207... We know where there allegiance remains... Their Feb 2009 donors:

Since Congress just got back in session, I think this is a direct consequence of the tea parties.

Also, HR 1207 is good on a level beyond its purpose. We have worked together to make Washington listen, breaking the Catch-22 that generally prevents grassroots power. We can do the same thing again for other legislation...:)

I dont know but at 88 co sponsors that means 20% of the house is already on board.. 1 out of 5.. not too shabby Dr. Paul..
