One Question Morality Test

What Would You Do?

Here's a morality test with only one question, but a very important one. It features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a choice. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous..

THE SITUATION:

You are in Florida. There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are photojournalist working for a major newspaper and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless.

You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the water. Nature is unleashing all of its destructive fury.

THE TEST:

Suddenly you see a man and a woman in the water. They are fighting for their lives, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer. Somehow they look familiar. You suddenly realize who they are.. It's Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi!! At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take them under forever. You have two options: You can save their lives or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the deaths of two of the world's most powerful people.

THE QUESTION:

Here's the question, and please give an honest answer.

Would you select high contrast color film or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

Color, it might capture the expression on their faces better.

I would film me saving them. Be an instant hero and Pulitzer prize winner.

Dude, forget the newspaper, I could sell this to bigger concerns. Time, National Geographic, Al Jazeera. Color all the way.

I'd do black and white, and then I'd make an attempt to save them.

What's the rating?

Eh.. making an attempt in a hurricane of this proportion would most likely ultimately fail too.

I don't care who it is; if I let them die, then I'd feel guilty for allowing that to happen when I could have at least tried.

Dude, you always go with black and white.

Especially if this is career making stuff.

Dude, this is the digital age. Shoot RAW w/color then shop it to B&W as needed.

I suppose you could do a before and after type thing... color for the moment when they're still alive, and then a b&w photo of the swirling water where they went under. It could be all symbolic... like the color went out of the world when they died. The lefties would really dig it.

Shoot it black and white and then colorize.

Because Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi continue to pass laws that infringe upon the personal liberty of people, the only moral thing to do would be to take a photo in black and white to capture the drama.

Edit: Unless they swear they will instate libertarian policies.
