Wow, last I saw it was at 55.

Since Paul isn't listed (I think because he is the sponsor, not a co-sponsor); that is on-the-record support from eighty members of the United States House of Representatives.

We need more co-sponsors.

If we by some miracle were able to get enough, the bill would be brought to the floor, I think, right?

What is that number? 218?

Who are the reps that aren't on it that might be swayed? Which districts? Who among us is in or near those districts? Can you - WILL YOU - take the time out of your day to make an in person visit to that rep's office?

We need more co-sponsors to make this happen....

Thanks!

Only one IA congressman on board. I'm surprised Rep. Steve King has not signed on yet. I'll be giving his office and the rest a call today.

Everyone of us has the responsibility to call their Congressman to insist that they co sponsor HR 1207 bill. While you got him suggest that he look inro the 10 th amendment as well as the read the bills act so they stop passing bills without even reading them! Check the list @ link above if your Congress rep is not on it contact him. Feel free to thank your rep if they are already on it!

Calling, in my district, was utterly ineffective.

Josh and I had both called - myself several times - to no avail. Meeting the congressman at a public event - with SIGNS and FLYERS - that actually worked.

This experience confirmed for me that calls are a waste of time.

If your critter is NOT a sponsor, call - but follow that call up with an ad in the local paper explaining WHAT 1207 will do (my wording was something like "this bill would make the Federal Reserve tell WE THE PEOPLE who got OUR tax dollars - we have the right to know!") And state in the ad that you HAVE CALLED but that the rep refuses to co-sponsor.

PUT THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE!!!!

If you can't spend the money for an ad, then you and your fellows who support 1207 should be writing letters to the editor doing the same thing: explain 1207 to the people and then CALL OUT YOUR REP for not co-sponsoring.

If your critter has an office in a high traffic area, GO THERE. Tell his help that you want to SEE the man. If they put you off, then fine - tell them you are there to ask IN PERSON that he co-sponsor 1207. And then, hand his help the flyer that you are going to be passing out in his district. Then take yer happy ass out front of his office AND START HANDING OUT THOSE FLYERS. Park in front of the office and sit a sandwich board type sign on top of your car.

Hell, for that matter, WE SHOULD BE HOLDING SIGNS ON OVERPASSES FOR THIS.

My take, anyways....

Called all mine except for Boswell, he is a tool and would probably never sponsor it.

I don't know about Kucinich but I'm sure Flake wouldn't vote against it.

I'm amazed Kucinich is not for transparency here. I don't think for a second he is bought and paif for, but sometimes he veers off course into some strange world that I can't figure out.

He's been saying he would for weeks. Now Adam Smith (D) (WA CD9) is the first of all Washington's representatives to cosponsor HR 1207!

We have been lobbying him for weeks, and he was very candid with us about the issue. I don't like much else he does, but he's definitely gained a few points.

Out of all the people I thought would co-sponsor it, Flake was definitely at the top of the list. Its really puzzling why he hasn't.

He was never throned to begin with and most people have never heard of him even here. Not cosponsoring this doesnt help him at all to build credibility.

there isn't a normal number. I looked at a page the other day that showed bills that had a dozen co-sponsors... a few had a couple hundred.

I don't know. I've seen both bills with ZERO co-sponsors and ones with hundreds pass. Co-sponsors are just people who sign on and put their name on the bill; just because someone doesn't (say, Jeff Flake) doesn't mean at all they will not vote for it if it gets to a full House vote.

He's one of the golden children of the Republican Liberty Caucus:

Sour grapes or not, he should still be supporting this bill if he truly was a "fed-fighter".

Let's give him a few days or so. However probable, it's still possible he hasn't heard of HR1207 yet. I'm sure after this huge wave of co-sponsors he will finally respond.

My congressman cosponsored hr1207 but he also voted for both bailouts. Jeff Flake on the other hand did not. I will be disappointed in Flake if he doesn't but it doesn't mean he is worse than my congressman.
