Presidential candidate Ron Paul raised $350,000 during a west coast tour that lasted several days. Paul’s campaign had only raised 3 million as of the last campaign filing but had 2.5 million cash on hand.
There are signs that Paul’s campaign is gaining momentum both in support and fund raising. Paul’s west coast tour had events and rallies in Utah, Seattle and San Francisco. It was not uncommon for the candidate to garner crowds in excess of 1,000 supporters for rallies.
Campaign strategy may have adjusted already to the changes in the primary calendars. While the first in the nation caucus in Iowa, and the first in the nation primary in New Hampshire are vitally important for the presidential primary election, with 22 states moving their primary elections up to Super Tuesday on February 5th, campaigns are giving attention to many other regions of the country.
Given the increase in fund raising and the size of the crowds Paul is attracting it looks like Paul’s Conservative/Libertarian message is likely to play out well in Western states.
Word is that is next campaign filing will reflect his growth in popularity
