State Senator Randy Brogdon announced his gubernatorial run on April 18th.

Check out his website at http://www.randybrogdon.com/

He helped lead the effort for Oklahoma to opt out of the REAL ID Act and also helped lead the state sovereignty resolution to passage. It is imperative that we elect strong state sovereignty governors like him in 2010!

Randy is really good- and this is a great thing here. I first heard him speak at an anti-TTC rally at the Texas state capital last year. I was seriously impressed.

I will be informing my liberty-minded friend who lives in Stillwater, Oklahoma of this good news.

He sure got a good reception at the convention. And his competition is a House member--Mary Fallin--who voted for bailouts. I think this bodes well indeed for him.

Couldn't help but chuckle at the differences in the handouts each provided at the convention. Brogdon had a plain black-and-white full-sized sheet of paper full of information on himself and his positions. Fallin had a slick little full-color handout that was a delight to the eye, said absolutely nothing at all about her positions in true neocon style, and was dominated by a tear-off perforated blank at the bottom begging for grassroots activists to help her come up with something more substantive than tv commercials.

I didn't fill it out.

I liked his idea of taking the stimulus money OK was to receive, and rebating it all to the taxpayers.

If we can't keep them from throwing the stuff around irresponsibly, I can't imagine a better use for it either. But I'm more impressed with him for spearheading our Tenth Amendment legislation and other good things. He and Charles Key are keepers!

Wonder if he can springboard our governor's chair into a presidential run? He does give a good speech!

Here's a news story that aired on April 17th, the day before Sen. Brogdon's announcement (as seen in the video embedded in the first post).

YouTube - Brogdon on KOTV 4.17.09 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCNR1aQkpyw)

Sen. Brogdon's only announced GOP opponent is U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin. She didn't vote for TARP the first time (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll674.xml) but she did vote for it the second time (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll681.xml).

This woman needs to lose this primary.

Dr. Chuck Baldwin correctly argued at http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2009/cbarchive_20090320.html that it is the states that really need to be worked on. With the rise of the state sovereignty movement, what we need to elect the most in 2010 are strong governors who will stand up to Washington D.C.
