I just got this email:

Will you organize for a March on Washington on 9-12?

Thank you for taking the lead in your community for the Tax Day Tea Party protests. We delivered a message loud and clear to Congress that enough is enough! But the media and big government pundits are mocking us, dismissing us and criticizing us. It is my belief that we must continue the momentum from April 15th by not only staying involved locally, and protesting again on July 4th, but by organizing a massive taxpayer March on Washington on September 12, 2009. (http://912dc.org)

I just wanted to let you know about this protest, and give you a heads up that we have secured a permit for the U.S. Capitol. But we cannot make this protest a success without your help. Please rsvp (http://912dc.org) that you will try to attend the 9-12 protest, and let us know if you would be willing to help organize your community to bring as many folks as possible. In the days leading up to the protest, we will be asking attendees to meet with their congressmen and senators and their staff. This is a great opportunity for all of us to stand together with one voice and take our message directly to lawmakers, and we hope that you will join us.

Sincerely,

Brendan Steinhauser

I'm wary of FreedomWorks. Here is a quote from their 'About' page:

"Folks, you've got to get to know this organization ... They have been doing a great job all over the country educating people."

- President George W. Bush

I don't see what George W. Bush has to do with small government or freedom. If he supports their agenda it makes me wonder what's wrong with it.

Yeah. I looked over the site and pretty much agreed with everything, but those endorsements scare me.

hasn't FreedomWorks been endorsed by Limbaugh and Hannity (neocons)?

It's the fake "ASTROTURF" org that was in the news. It's a neocon diversionary group.

We can do this any day with a million + people and tell them to fuck their permits. And to hell with that group endorsed by the neocons.

I decided to call the guy and tell him why I'm not participating but I had to leave a voice mail. I wonder if he'll call me back.

I wouldn't make a 9/12 march anyhow, thats taking focus off of the real agenda during that timeframe. 9/11.

I'll be in NY.

It's the GOP establishment again. These guys are all insiders, former politicians and lobbyists.
