This thread is a huge failure.

I will be there on opening day for Bruno.

Whats the point?

Lets say you find 2,000,000 Ron Paul fans willing to pay $8 to see Debbie Does Dallas XVIII (or whatever).

That won't mean less people will see Bruno.

So what have you accomplished? Seeing the movie open at no. 2 instead of number 1? What is the point of that?

About the only thing you will accomplish is making the people who made "Debbie Does Dallas XVIII" very rich...

Although for reasons already pointed out, I don't think we can have an appreciable effect, it would certainly be nice. That kind of thing disgusts me, and would like to see the market plow it under.

Bruno will be a hilarious movie, it will make millions of dollars, and you will have to get over it.

I know right? He's become a bona fide celeb which is a shit load more than I ever could have thought would happen when I learned about him back in 2007. Any time RP gets name recognition it's a great thing. The interview doesn't sound as bad as the media made it out to be and RP himself even said (paraphrasing) that it's still capitalism even if raunchy stuff like Bruno does well.

What the hell is Bruno?
I knew a Pimp named Bruno, he drove a Lincoln Mark V back in the day.

I checked Steamboat 'Round the Bend out of the library. Good movie.

To hell with Hollywood. No movie that is forgotten in six months is worth my time. And rancid popcorn sure as hell isn't worth eight bucks. I couldn't care less about the first run of any movie.

As a fellow Aggie,

I disagree with this idea.

I'm not saying I condone the movie; but this is silly.

This. Imagine all the new people who will be exposed to Paul.

I'm going to watch it and cheer my lungs out for RP, even though i'll probably have to watch it in Britain and everyone will be so confused :P

Why don't we use this opportunity to pass out Campaign for Liberty literature after the movie? Imagine if all the Meetup groups did this on opening night?
