Just to give credit where credit is due.

I think it was half from our grassroots libertarian movement and half from the neocon fox movement

There should be a Rick Santelli option. After his call for a Chicago one is when I started hearing about others popping up.

I have mixed feelings about the TP after attending the one where I live. I don't think it was massive because "we care". I think that it was a bunch of neocon's who were fulfilling their own agenda. It was masses of the sheep, and they had no clue that THEY are part of the problem. I had a problem with Fox News planting their commentators all over the Nation for this event, and have this feeling that we are all being rounded up for some sort of slaughter.

It's still sinking in but after yesterday it was clear as day that the people behind the agenda are mislead, and think they are correct, AND they are totally going off in a different direction. They don't want to hear truth. They just want their koolaid. Freedom and Liberty is not what they want. They just want control. Nothing different than the current administration and its down right sad and scary at the same time.

I voted Campaign for Liberty (which is also Ron Paul). It was not Fox news. This was my 3rd tea party, and all of them I heard about via emails/forums. I don't even watch Fox news and still consider them a$$holes after the way they treated Ron Paul last year. They have freedom watch so they are getting better, but I think they are just taking advantage of the liberty movement for their own purposes.

We had lots of Flat Taxers and this 912 project people at the tea parties. I don't like the flat tax since it legitimizes the illegitimate; I'd rather have the income tax abolished like Ron proposes.

The 912 project seems to have some fundamentalist Christian flavor to it, and it has Fox news written all over it. As they say, unite or die, so I don't have a problem rallying with these groups. We agree 90% of the time.

LOL. I don't think I need to elaborate. You came to the right conclusion in the end.

See NO, you are falling for the trap. RIGHT there. We don't agree with these fuckheads 90% of the time. They are national socialists. Republicans are part of the fucken problem. We are NOTHING LIKE THEM.

Unite or die is what the brain dead sheeple say.

Touche. No matter what, FOX is going to be all over this now. The thing is, if Paul doesnt run in 2012, that messgae will be completely hijacked. We are going to see how powerful the internet is soon.

Something very strange is going on. I've noticed it ever since the Tea Party coverage on Fox News the other night.

It seems great that there was such a big turnout at the Tea Parties, but when the big bad wolf says to the piggies, "Hey, we're all friends now, come and join us," I get a little uneasy.

Massive turnout? if 300,000 folks showed up that's 0.1% of the total US population....what happened with the other 99.9%?

Fox news, AM talk radio, and the GOP all were really big factors.

I would say AM radio is the biggest factor though.

From what I learned in the little courses C4L makes you take in becoming a coordinator, the campaigns live on swing votes. This is the info they give you

100%, all people
70% eligible to vote (excludes aliens, felons, minors)
40% registered to vote (approximately 60% of eligible)
20% vote on election day (50% of registered voters)
7% almost always vote Republican
7% almost always vote Democrat
6% swing votes

The Democratic and Republican parties thrive on that 3% +1 vote.

The way I see it, if there were 150k Republicans coming out, that gives us the opportunity to show them what our cause is all about. If we have more of these rallies, we will convert more and more people to the Libertarian cause (voting for Ron Paul is primaries). That seems like a good thing to me, even if Fox hijacked it.

Only 0.1% of the US population showed up...that's not enough to scare anyone...the rest of the sheeple still has to learn their lesson the hard way.

Or maybe it was Ben Bernanke.

Why isn't t here a "Barack Obama / George Bush / Other Past Presidents" option?

That's what I'm wondering. Or congress-critters, or bureaucrats...
