I attended the San Jose, CA Tea Party event. A group of the most average people you can imagine out there. Young, old, and everything in between. You may have been able to find one sign out of hundreds that was mildly off-subject. What was interesting was the counter-protest and media coverage.

To boil it down, a group of La Raza Anarcho-Communists showed up to disrupt and attempt to start confrontations. The Police finally had to surround them with a few Officers in riot gear, but not until they had walked right up to where the speaker was, and chanted with bull-horns and beat on plastic buckets.

The only TV coverage was the local CBS affiliate, which reported that "Riot Police had to be called out to the Tea Party event in San Jose". On their late news, the had a "positive" segment about the new Janet Napolitano memo of right-wing radicals. Their guest was an SPLC official. They went immediately from that story to the "Tea Party Riot Police". I was standing right next to the CBS cameraman when he was filming the counter protesters and their Police "escorts". My friend asked him why he was only filming that, and that it would distort the story. The cameraman said "I got other footage earlier". The broadcasts that I saw only showed the riot police, with no mention of the real story.

We talked to some of the Leftists and said, hey we're not racist or against reasonable immigration. They said, "yeah, we know, but we heard that those people would be here."

Not that this should surprise anyone. This is how the media reports all stories. Sensationalize, and add their spin.

They left no evidence on their website of their coverage. Covering their asses.

Here are examples of a true story, and the type of lies told by the media and the leftist protesters.

The Truth:

http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/entry/scenes_from_the_san_jose_tax_day_tea_party_15_apri l_2009/

"In a noteworthy departure for Bay Area protests, an orderly and peaceful group of between 2,000 and 2,500 gathered today in down-town San Jose. The Tea Party, a protest of out of control federal spending and the taxes which will have to pay for it, started shortly before 5:00pm and started dispersing an hour later. "

Absolute Lies and Propaganda:

Note: Most of their pics were from an earlier, small group standing on the street. Not part of the larger, official Tea Party Event. Even with that, they didn't get any pictures to back up their wild exaggerations and lies. The official CBS coverage was not as blatant as this.

http://www.when.com/san-jose-ca/events/show/86761792-san-jose-tax-day-tea-party

"The FOX-News heavily promoted anti- tax "tea parties" meant party-time for some of the worst of the right wing in San Jose, California today. Their signs signaled everything from racism, to homophobia, to misogyny. From noon about 100 gathered in front of the IRS building in downtown San Jose. They were countered by a smaller contingent of anti-war/anti-racism seasoned activists. But the tea party participants weren't listening."

I was born in San Jose. The media down there was ridiculous. I thought that at the ripe old age of 5.

Next time you see that happening, remember that you have the right to hold your sign straight in front of his camera. Just don't touch him, or it.

Yeah, it always has been as bleeding heart leftist as it comes. I have never attended an event that was reported accurately, but I assume that is all the media. The difference here is the blatant slant.

The Peaceful protest began at around 4 PM in San Jose.

Folks were showing their signs and having fun.

Then the agitators arrived.

http://hchq.biz/taxday2k9/agitators.JPG

The confrontations began and some minor skirmishes broke out. The only violence I witnessed was a push from a man towards one of the agitators. The "pusher" later told me that an agitator had attempted to grab his camera.

So in come the riot police, who cordoned off the disruptive agitators so that they could continue their counter-protest unobstructed.

The disruption made for some excitement, and it appeared that a good time was had by most.

I estimate that about 3000 people attended, and it was especially gratifying to see the time and effort that people had taken to make their own slogans and signs.

I was at the San Jose tea party, also, and it is unbelievable how unfair the media has been. Did you see that Keith Olbermann and Janet Garafalo interview? We are racists? The anti tea party protestors were the ones causing the ONLY trouble whatsover, and they were also the only ones bringing up race at this TAX protest party. Also, what hasn't been mentioned is that MOST of the vehicles driving down the streets, before they police blocked them off, were honking in agreement with our signs. Yes, I said MOST, not a few, not half... MOST! That alone was satisfying!

That's California media for you.

Yep, the San Jose Mercury News is one of the most leftist/bleeding heart/ Democrat rags in the country. They have been running stories for months that the Police are racist because of arrest "statistics".

Mini-Riots in downtown San Jose are common. Especially holidays and weekends. The Police are all over the place at night around the clubs. Granted, the police are often unfair in these situations. It's just a mess. There are lots of fights, vandalism, and gang members mixed in.

But the blatant lies by the Mercury News are the "statistics" they use. They say "only 33% of San Jose is Latino, but 57% of the downtown arrests are Latino". Duh! On a Sat. night, the downtown is around 75% Latino, with many of the clubs being 99% Latino. What should the arrest stats look like with that demographic? The Police aren't down there arresting people at noon. It's 2 am in the morning!

This type of media misrepresentation is typical of Bay Area "News":

Just as in the department's public-drunkenness arrests, previously examined by the newspaper, the proportion of Latinos being charged with those crimes is lopsided in a way not seen in other large cities around the state. Though San Jose's population is less than one-third Latino, about 57 percent of those charged by San Jose police with resisting arrest and more than 70 percent of those charged with disturbing the peace are Hispanic, state figures show.

Electrifying video of the SJ Tea Party. The agitators are simply foul-mouthed goons. We don't have to worry about the agitators, they'll self destruct on their own without any help. ;)

BTW, I agree. BUILD A WALL! :)

and... profile your neighbors. Can they speak English? If not, help escort them back across the border. The odds are favorable that you'll be doing both a service to your country and a service to the illegal invaders.... In the meantime, BUILD A WALL! ;)

Yeesh, stupidity all over the place in that video.

"You're probably selling dope and that's probably a stolen camera."
"Your daughter is going to have a half-Mexican baby."

Not exactly the way people get enlightened one way or another.

The ending was very well done, though. Says it all.

Lol! I recognize some of those people. Talked to one guy who was getting in their faces. I would say he was a big Michael Savage fan.
