I attended a town hall meeting today in Lebanon, TN (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=lebanon,+tn&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF8&split=0&gl=us&ei=CsjnSbKdHOOMtgfc9djXBQ&ll=36.461054,-86.31958&spn=1.912872,3.537598&z=8) at Cumberland University (http://www.cumberland.edu/) with Republican Senator Bob Corker.
It was quite humorous. UAW (http://www.uawlocal1853.org/) bused in a lot of people and there were MANY Obama bumper stickers in the parking lot. They let him have it full blast and in fact a fight broke out, someone had to be carried out of the room, and from my perspective I think a chair was even thrown.
One lady stood up and said we needed to end the Fed (http://endthefed.us/) and got lots of applause. Corker said something about the IMF (http://www.imf.org/) increasing funding and that business needs credit. He then said he doesn't think it's possible to audit the Fed in the current political climate.
When someone stood up and told him 'NO NAU (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Union)' the Senator responded "I don't see any evidence of a North American Union (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Union)" but he said he would be open to having info sent to his office (http://corker.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ContactInformation.OfficeLoca tions) regarding the NAU (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Union).
When asked about health care he also said:
"those of us who are able....have a moral obligation to provide access to affordable health care"
Oh and also worth mentioning is the fact that the Senator also voted for the bailout in October with Senators Obama and McCain: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=s2008-213
