What the hell is with this "Fair Tax" bullshit? Why the hell do we need to have any law with the word "Fair" in it? You have got to be freaking kidding me! They call this bullshit "Fair Tax" so when dumbasses chant fair tax thinking they are asking for something that is
fair

Do you really think people are that impressionable? Hannity quoting McCain is going to excite noone, and resonate with noone. He can be a partisan hack if he wants, but hes being one in a time where people aren't looking for a partisan hack. If someone agreed with Beck when he said those things, they are going to disagree with Hannity and his vintage 2003 talking points.

I believe that the Fair Tax is the brain child of Atlanta rep (or is he now a Senator?) Johnny Isakson.

Atlanta radio personality Neal Boortz wrote a book about it and pushes it on his radio show.

I am not surprised that they're using the tea party to push the idea, but I am sad that I have yet to see any 1207 signs or RP signs.

Watching this, I am totally convinced that I really do belong in Texas.

Except the 16th amendment must be repealed first. Good luck with that. Otherwise you'll have BOTH, like Europe and other socialist shitholes.

Why not? It's already been done. It's called the payroll tax. They want another flat tax for income, and one for environmental B.S. Combined, it will be about 50% of all income without deductions.

Can I say that I don't mind the FairTax stuff? Not that support it at all, but I think it's better to have people at least thinking about alternative tax systems than blindly advocating our current tax code, which is what has happened for decades.

Up till now, people's reactions:
"You want to get rid of TAXES?! How would we PAY for anything?!"

People's reactions now:
"Tax reform!"

Progress is progress. The FairTax isn't a great system, but at least people are acknowledging that we need real and radical improvements.

Fuck the dam fair tax, the Tea Party wasn't about some fair tax. The tea party was about not being taxed without representation. Who the hell came up with dam "Fair Tax"? This is just a flat lie to your face. There is no representation here, and there is nothing fair about it. If you want a tax that is free from bias, dishonesty, or injustice: a fair decision; a fair judge. 2. legitimately sought, pursued, done, given, etc.; proper under the rules: a fair fight.

Then you need to get the dam federal government the hell out the way cause those greedy bastards represent NO ONE. Fix that fucking mess on capitol hill first and we won't be talking about some dam law with the word "Fair" in it. What a dam joke. We support and compromise on this unrepresentative BULLSHIT then we will never get that ground back. I don't want a greedy "Fair Tax" unless I see 50 different tax proposals from 50 different states that we all get to vote on.

When that happens, then we can call it fucking fair.

Try explaining to people that the government doesn't even need your taxes to spend money, it can just print it. Identify spending as the primary concern. I saw a lot of signs that read, "Already taxed enough." That may be true, but we've already spent waaaayyy too much.

This morning on Coast to Coast, George Norry had some guy on advocating the fair tax. He stated the current bill in Congress ?HR25 had 52 or so co-sponsers and only one was a democrat. He also said that it had a "huge" grassroots following. George Norry then asked, what does Ron Paul think of it? The guy said that Ron Paul was all for it! Then reiterated the amount of co-sponsers in Congress making it sound like Ron Paul was one. I said, I don't think so. He kept going on and on about Huckabee supporting it. A caller stated that Ron Paul was for abolishing the Income Tax and replacing it with nothing and would the monies from the Fair Tax go to the Central Bankers? The guy replied in double speak and never answered the question. Thought it was great that George Norry asked what Ron Paul thought of it!!

The Fair tax:

A 30% sales tax on all new goods.

Everyone receives a monthly check in the amount of (poverty level * .3).

So if the poverty level is set to $10k a year, you will receive $3k to go toward the taxes you paid on basic items.

Here's the problem, even if it is an amendment. The poverty level is still set by a government institution. That government institution could set the poverty level to $100k, the "Fair Tax" now becomes a distribution of wealth. Everyone makes $30k per year, combine that with the push to cap salaries and you pretty much have Communism.

All as the nation lives and breaths based on the whims of the poverty level setting branch of government.

Well, I'm all for closing loopholes. I'd just as soon junk the loopholes by junking the whole system, but in any case I'm all for junking loopholes. It all comes down to, which will make the rich pay more? A non-progressive system that has no loopholes or a progressive system that isn't progressive because the rich can drive through all the exemptions? The only real advantage I see in the former over the latter is that we get less of the government making us (or 'encouraging' us) to jump through their hoops.

In the end, I'd just as soon get rid of it all--and concentrate on concentrating the empty housing of this nation in a narrow corridor between Fredrick and Fredricksburg.

Nothing will change. The IRS is used as an army to intimidate and the elite pay no taxes, that equals no change.

You all want no tax. So do I but that will only happen when things go hot.

I too listened to the coast to coast piece. The man was informative and he did not evade the RP support question. RP said that the FAIR Tax is far better than what we have today. I so agree with him. Baby steps, lets at least push for the Fair Tax. Get people use to no IRS. The rest will take care of itself.

The flat tax is a rip and changes nothing. What one owes is cut in granite and the IRS thugs will still drag you away. NO a thousand times.

O will win a second term if we go down this third party road again, RP movement actually put him in office. Lets wake up and fight fire with fire. This TEA PARTY attendance proves we can take the GOP! Lets do it and do it now and WE need to pick the candidate NOW and get it rolling before GB and Hannity do it for us and they are working on it right now.

Time is of the essence!!
