On this thread I will count down my opinion of the Top Five most glorious moments from Dr Paul's 08 primary campaign. I will do this starting with #5 and ending with #1.
#5 - Meet the Press Intro and Interview

I remember being ridiculously excited and even a bit nervous about Dr Paul's appearance on Meet the Press. I was literally on the edge of my couch, excited beyond belief, when the show began. Tim Russert (RIP) began his legendary intro over John Williams epic theme (called "Pulse of Events"). When Russert said, "Since October, he has raised more than 19 million dollars, more than any other Republican candidate for president," the hairs on my arms and neck were literally standing on end.
The audio, which goes beyond every definition of "epic," can be played and downloaded here:

Listening to this still gives me chills.
My favorite part of the interview came when Russert and Dr Paul were discussing the causes of al Qaeda.
Dr Paul: "It's sort of like if you step in a snake pit and you get bit, you know, who caused the trouble? Because you stepped in the snake pit, or because snakes bite you?"
That was the first time I had heard Dr Paul - or anyone - use that analogy. I thought it was absolutely perfect, and totally nailed the point he was trying to make about blowback and the unintended consequences of meddling unnecessarily in foreign lands.
to be continued.... #4 coming...
