75% of Americans pay more in payroll taxes than in income taxes. It's time to end it!

About damn time someone understands basic math. It is a ponzi scheme, plain and simple.

Ya, that's a hidden tax that most Americans don't understand.

If they understood it the way they understand Income Taxes they wouldn't want to get rid of it, they'd want to change it so that instead of people not having to pay on anything over 90k, they'd set it so that only income over 90k is taxed.

It's a regressive tax. It'll be changed eventually.

Damn straight. The payroll tax is a much bigger problem than the income tax, IMO. Not only is it extremely regressive, it also adds large accounting costs for businesses which employ Americans. Worst of all, it funds a Ponzi scheme which you could do better without. Why pay into Social Security and Medicare when you could take that money and save more than you could receive in benefits?

There will be a global tax, or climate tax much like the payroll tax some day. Mark my words. All they have to do is add it on top of the payroll tax and make the employer pay half.

Why? look how easy it is to get away with. Even on this forum there are 50 threads on the evils of income tax compared to payroll tax. Which tax is the most unconstitutional? Payroll. Which tax is the most costly? Payroll. Which causes the most small business to close down? Payroll.

Nobody cares.

"Payroll Tax" is part of the Income Tax.

The "Payroll" tax (FICA) simply imposed another tax on "income", measured by remuneration paid to a particular group of federal workers (defined in section 3121).

This class of remuneration was given the title of “wages", more particularly, FICA "wages", and is distinguished from the “wages” defined at 26 USC 3401. 3401 “wages” make up a broad and inclusive class (remuneration paid to all federal workers), within which is the subclass of FICA “wages”. That is, all federal worker’s pay qualifies as 3401 "wages", but only some also qualifies simultaneously as 3121 "wages", and is used to measure the additional "income" tax.
